Chapter 7: She’s Just A Two-faced White Lotus
The next morning.
Jiang Ning’s first thing was to open her mobile phone to see if Top Grade High School Boy had replied to her.
Then she saw him say his name was Meng Jing.
This name sounded pretty nice, but Jiang Ning wasn’t in a hurry to reply; she needed to create some distance, couldn’t be too eager at the start, or it would be easy to run out of topics.
Little Honey saw her in a good mood humming a tune and said speechlessly: 【Letting you only play a Vicious Female Supporting Character is such a waste of talent. Today’s first mission: go to school and use money to ruthlessly humiliate the Male Lead, then force him to drop out.】
Jiang Ning pouted: “Got it.”
This mission was way simpler than kicking him once.
Jiang Ning opened the wardrobe, looking at the rows of white princess dresses, and fell into contemplation: “What’s with all this white? Are you going to a funeral or something?”
She rummaged through the entire wardrobe, collapsing exhausted on the floor, before finally accepting this fact.
The original body was not only vicious but also an ultimate love brain.
Because Gu Lanli liked white, she had worn white skirts for a full thirteen years!
And because Gu Lanli liked gardenia flowers, the original body was practically marinated in their scent; opening the wardrobe released such a strong fragrance that it turned Jiang Ning’s face green.
She resigned herself to it.
When she got out of the luxury car and arrived at Jin Cheng Ninth High School, seeing all the students around her in school uniforms while she was the only one in a spotless white princess dress, at that moment, Jiang Ning felt like she was a white lotus flower that looked pure on the outside but wasn’t on the inside.
But the people around her were obviously already used to her outfit, and no one said anything; students passing by just deliberately avoided her, not daring to get too close.
Jiang Ning leaned on her crutch and limped inside.
She had originally wanted to continue making Jiang Yan carry her, but that stinky kid wasn’t home early in the morning.
“Ning Ning? Oh my god, what happened to your foot!” An anxious female voice rang out from behind.
Jiang Ning stopped in place and turned her head, almost scared to death by this pointed chin face right in front of her.
The newcomer was wearing a JK uniform but had a blue-and-white school uniform jacket over it, with her hair in a bun hairstyle; her face had probably been done, big eyes with double eyelids and a sharp chin— not ugly, but the chin was so sharp it could be used as a weapon; on closer look, she was wearing light makeup.
This was one of the original body’s good best friends, Chen Shuyan.
On the surface a best friend, but behind her back an enemy honey.
Because the original body was a busty airheaded pretty vase who believed whatever others said.
So after Chen Shuyan latched onto her, her status rose with the tide; even the money for her plastic surgery came from Jiang Ning.
Usually, most of the bad ideas came from her, but the bad deeds were done by the original body.
Most importantly, the person Chen Shuyan liked was Gu Lanli, so on the surface she was besties with Sister Ning, but behind her back she wished she could stab Jiang Ning.
In the end, when the Jiang Family went bankrupt, Jiang Ning’s miserable end was inseparable from all these people.
But now the original body still fully trusted her good enemy honey.
After absorbing the information, Jiang Ning instantly got into character, her expression angry: “Yanyan, you came at the right time. Have you seen that bastard Xie Jingyan? My foot is his doing. I absolutely won’t let him off today.”
Chen Shuyan’s eyes lit up.
What a coincidence.
She had come to find Jiang Ning exactly about this.
So she also put on a furious face: “What? He actually dared to harm you? He doesn’t want to live anymore. Ning Ning, this grudge must be avenged, or that kid will think you’re easy to bully and ride over your head to shit in the future!”
Jiang Ning nodded in deep agreement: “As expected of my good best friend, always thinking of me. So what should I do next?”
A flash of smug contempt passed through Chen Shuyan’s eyes: this idiot Jiang Ning.
Soon this emotion turned into worry for Jiang Ning.
“Something happened last night. Xie Jingyan went to Zero Degree Bar and beat up my brother Chen Jianfei, then bumped into Young Master Gu on his way out and even threatened him, saying he wouldn’t let any of us off; his attitude was arrogant and vicious, and he even robbed my brother’s money.” Chen Shuyan directly twisted the facts.
“He actually dared to threaten Lan Li Gege! He’s got a death wish!”
Jiang Ning was angry on the surface but clear in her heart: hey, if she didn’t know the plot, she would have believed it.
That money should be the life-saving money Xie Jingyan was giving to his family, which was eventually squandered by Chen Jianfei and the others.
Talk about a twist.
With no money to heal his family and at the end of his rope, the Male Lead finally accepted the Female Lead’s help.
The two tangled for several years before finally getting together.
And Jiang Ning, as the relationship catalyst, was about to play her role now.
“So Ning Ning, we must get back this money. My brother said even if we scatter it all, he doesn’t want to benefit that poor ghost Xie Jingyan.” Chen Shuyan spoke with inducement.
Jiang Ning nodded and looked at Chen Shuyan with eyes full of agreement: “Yanyan, good thing I have you. Let’s go get the money back later. Oh right, where’s my Lan Li Gege? Has he arrived at school?”
Chen Shuyan suppressed the jealousy in her heart and smiled: “Young Master Gu was drinking last night, so he’ll be late to school today.”
“Oh, okay.”
Jiang Ning had only asked casually; she didn’t care if Gu Lanli came or not.
She pulled a red banknote from her bag; when handing it over, the money accidentally slipped to the ground. Jiang Ning showed no apology on her face: “Oops, hand slipped. This one’s a reward for you. Go buy something to eat; your poor face has slimmed down to a pointed chin. Pick up the money yourself.”
Chen Shuyan almost couldn’t maintain her expression. This was fucking too insulting—saying she was ugly to make herself look pretty?
But Jiang Ning was just that malicious in temperament.
It might be an unintentional act, yet it caused huge harm to others.
Simply because she was rich and too arrogant.
Chen Shuyan endured the discomfort, forced a smile, bent down to pick up the money: “Thanks, Ning Ning. You’re so good to me.”
Jiang Ning smiled sweetly: “No problem, good sister.”
After saying that, she left leaning on her crutch.
Chen Shuyan swallowed her anger and followed behind, her eyes filled with unconcealable jealousy and hatred.
Yet this kind of fool was born lucky, into a wealthy family, surrounded by rich young masters and young ladies who knew nothing of the human world’s hardships, treating everyone as beckoned and dismissed at will. Even though she now appeared to be Jiang Ning’s “good best friend,” she was no different from a servant attending to her side—just like earlier, when in a good mood, she tossed her some money like calling a dog.
But she didn’t dare complain, because all her current financial support came entirely from Jiang Ning.
The only consolation was that even Jiang Ning had times when she hit a wall, and that was Gu Lanli. Everyone in Jin Cheng knew Jiang Ning chased him without any dignity, willing to do anything for Gu Lanli, but a man like Gu Lanli just hated women throwing themselves at him, so he didn’t like Jiang Ning.
So as long as she stayed by Jiang Ning’s side, she had an opportunity to rise.
The trouble was that Gu Lanli also had Su Wanyuan living at his house.
Chen Shuyan gritted her teeth, her gaze falling on Jiang Ning’s back view, a smile slowly curling at the corners of her mouth.
Immediately, she quickened her pace to catch up, supporting Jiang Ning: “Ning Ning, let me tell you something else. You need to watch out for that bitch Su Wanyuan. Last night at Zero Degree, someone saw her being intimate with Young Master Gu.”
