Chapter 130: Argument
Inside the Holy Court Garden employee restaurant:
Three or four employees gathered, watching the General Manager Andrei and Assistant Athena distributing breakfast, and complained, “What’s the situation with the General Manager? Such a surprise first thing in the morning? I might choke on my food!”
“Surprise, I think it’s a scare. What is this? Can’t people even eat?”
“Right, right. Why is the General Manager suddenly so concerned about us subordinates?”
“You don’t understand. He’s trying to curry favor with us and secure his position!”
Just then, a few more people joined, crowding around and gossiping with starry eyes, “Wow, our General Manager is so handsome, and so nice. He’s simply irresistible!”
Another person chimed in, “He’s practically a Male God sent by God just to meet me here!”
The initial three people looked disdainfully at the newcomers, “Tch, what Male God, what meeting? Go back to your dorms and have a good sleep, you’ll have better luck dreaming!”
“Exactly. You overestimating guys. Our Chairman is much more charming!” Then everyone noticed Ji Xiangyu’s appearance and looked over in unison. “Look, those sexy lips, deep eyes, perfect body curves, coupled with his innate kingly demeanor. The General Manager is completely outshone!”
Five or six people nodded in unison, “Yes, our Chairman is truly admirable!”
The Customer Service Team Leader, holding a manual, lightly tapped five or six employees, who looked at the Team Leader innocently, “Hello, Team Leader!”
The Customer Service Team Leader sternly reprimanded, “You’re all full, not working, but have time to gossip about the Chairman and the General Manager? Do you want to quit? The General Manager is the General Manager, and the Chairman is the Chairman. If I see anyone gossiping again, watch your rice bowl! Finish eating and clean up immediately! Now!”
Startled, several people quickly scurried away, still muttering!
Assistant Che and Ji Xiangyu arrived at the employee restaurant. Ji Xiangyu watched Andrei and Athena enthusiastically distributing meals to every employee coming to eat. From time to time, several infatuated women would gather, happily looking at Andrei, their fangirling mode fully activated!
Quite a few male employees deliberately went to Athena’s line to get their meals, smiling and saying, “Assistant, you are truly beautiful and kind!”
Athena simply smiled faintly, “Thank you, enjoy your meal!”
Andrei happened to see this scene, a smile curved his lips. Our Athena is as popular as ever!
Assistant Che looked at the intimate General Manager and Chief Assistant, and glanced worriedly at Ji Xiangyu. She noticed Ji Xiangyu clenching his teeth, as if suppressing something!
However, Assistant Che still had to remind Ji Xiangyu, “Chairman, the General Manager and Chief Assistant are distributing meals here early in the morning, which is making many employees afraid to come to the restaurant to eat!”
Ji Xiangyu said coldly, “Assistant Che, go check on the VIP guests first. We’ll be attending Jingyi’s Opening Ceremony later anyway, and I’ll go with the General Manager!”
Assistant Che nodded and then left!
Ji Xiangyu looked at Athena, who was happily distributing meals, a faint smile spreading across his lips. Athena, working diligently, looked very beautiful!
The beauty that emanates when one is focused on something!
Ji Xiangyu approached, and the employees respectfully greeted him, “Hello, Chairman!”
Ji Xiangyu nodded and walked to Athena’s side, snatching the tool from her hand and saying, “Since the General Manager is personally serving meals to employees, how can I, as Chairman, stand by and not join in?!”
Andrei let out a cold laugh, looking at Ji Xiangyu, and said with a slightly flippant tone, “Since the Chairman insists, then so be it!”
He then gestured for Athena to let Ji Xiangyu take over!
Athena nodded and prepared to leave. As she turned, she accidentally bumped into a large hot pot, and the next moment she was scalded! Someone had placed a very hot soup next to her, causing her to be hit!
Ji Xiangyu immediately supported Athena and asked with concern, “Are you hurt anywhere?”
Andrei directly stepped forward, pulling Athena away from Ji Xiangyu and said, “Chairman, my Assistant is better handled by me. With so many employees watching, it’s really not appropriate for you, as Chairman.”
Ji Xiangyu straightened his suit and looked coldly at Andrei, saying, “I’ll return those words to you, General Manager. I hope you always remember that I am your superior, and you are my subordinate. A subordinate is always a subordinate and cannot overstep their authority!”
He then said to Athena, “Excuse me!”
Athena stood awkwardly to the side, watching the two people clash over such a trivial matter, feeling a sense of helplessness.
After Ji Xiangyu left, Yao Anna looked reproachfully at Andrei, “General Manager, you overreacted quite a bit this time, didn’t you?”
Andrei’s face was cold, and he didn’t speak. If he didn’t prevent Athena and Ji Xiangyu from getting close, Situ Jingyi would have acted against Yao Anna. He would rather Athena be temporarily sad than face disaster later!
He would definitely protect Athena, no matter the cost!
Athena looked at the cold-faced Andrei, knowing she had made him angry. She sighed softly, “Andrei, I’m sorry!”
