Chapter 139: An Incident!
Ji Xiangyu found Athena’s embarrassed state amusing and had the urge to tease her. However, a telephone call sent his mood plummeting from heaven to hell!
His mobile phone vibrated. He took it out and answered, his brow furrowed. Athena instinctively felt that something must have happened at the hotel!
The Guest Room Manager on the other end said anxiously, “Chairman, something has happened. Everyone on the Evaluation Team is experiencing stomach pain and vomiting. We suspect food poisoning!”
Ji Xiangyu’s hand tightened around his mobile phone. The words of the Board of Directors flashed through his mind: a three-month deadline. If his performance was good within these three months, he would continue as Chairman; if not, he would be kicked out.
Was this all done by people from the Board of Directors?
As soon as the elevator doors opened, Ji Xiangyu ran towards the location of the Evaluation Team. Athena followed, not understanding why Ji Xiangyu was so anxious. He made a call to Bruce, who was currently evacuating the Evaluation Team members and calling for an ambulance.
“Athena, something has happened. Come quickly and help!”
Athena hung up the phone and ran over. Upon arriving at the guest rooms, she saw the distressed Evaluation Team members. Everyone’s complexion was terrible, and some had even fainted. Andrei pulled Athena aside and said, “Athena, you should go and investigate what happened. I’ll handle things here!”
Athena understood what Andrei meant. She nodded and immediately ran towards the kitchen.
As she reached the kitchen doorway, she encountered Smith. Smith looked troubled and said, “Oh, dear Miss Athena, you’ve arrived just in time. Something else has happened in our kitchen!”
Athena looked at Smith reassuringly and asked, “Do you know which part went wrong?”
Smith shook his head. “The Head Chef is about to collapse. They say the incident happened after eating the final dessert. My rice bowl and reputation are probably ruined!”
Athena continued to comfort him, “Smith, don’t lose heart. I will definitely clear your name and won’t let the kitchen take the blame in vain. The General Manager said this is a man-made accident, not a problem with your dessert. Our top priority now is to find the mole!”
Smith exclaimed in surprise, “I also suspect someone tampered with my dessert. Other customers ate the same mousse and were fine, but only the Evaluation Team had issues. This is highly suspicious!”
Athena smiled and said, “Then let’s go and investigate who entered the kitchen last and who tampered with the dessert!”
Smith looked at Athena with admiration. “Oh, my Goddess Athena, you are truly an angel sent by God. I love you to death!”
Athena smiled faintly and pointed at the surveillance cameras. “I’ll go to the monitoring room to check. You and the Head Chef should interrogate the employees who participated in today’s production! Remember not to alert them!”
Smith winked at Athena and said, “Don’t worry about this Goddess Athena, I have a bit of a detective’s spirit. Go ahead and check with peace of mind!”
Athena and Smith split up and went to investigate separately!
At this moment, Situ Haonan and the members of the Board of Directors arrived at the hotel. Seeing the chaotic hotel, he immediately called over a customer service representative and asked, “What happened?”
