Chapter 15: How Can A Woman Be Without A Man Beside Her?
After Li Ailan unfurled the banner on the pedestrian street, the mission to investigate the truth behind Gu Lingling’s death was assigned to Si Heng.
He drove to Villa No. 6 at Yunshan Hot Spring and unexpectedly saw a familiar figure.
The woman was wearing a long black coat, her figure slender and tall, with long, black, soft, and shiny curly hair falling to her waist.
“Miss Jiang?”
Jiang Yuan turned her head to look, her eyebrows slightly raised, “Captain Si, what a coincidence?”
“Why are you here?” Si Heng strode towards her, only to notice she was holding a cat in her arms.
Jiang Yuan’s white and tender fingers gently stroked the cat’s head, saying unhurriedly, “I was thinking, the surveillance here isn’t broken, but why did Gu Lingling appear at Villa No. 6, and the surveillance didn’t capture her.”

Si Heng took out his mobile phone and tapped it a few times, playing a piece of surveillance footage.
On December 29th, two men checked into Villa No. 6. They went in and out together several times that day and left together when they checked out.
After the video finished playing, Jiang Yuan watched it again.
“What did you discover?” Si Heng looked up at her.
Jiang Yuan frowned and contemplated, “If you went out to play for two days, would you bring such a large suitcase?”
“No,” he answered decisively.
Jiang Yuan paused the video, her fingertip tapping on the suitcase in the screen, “If Gu Lingling entered like this, then the surveillance definitely wouldn’t have captured her.”
Hearing this, Si Heng’s dark pupils contracted violently.
A few seconds later, his expression anxious, he said, “Miss Jiang, I need to go back to the police station now. Do you need me to give you a ride?”
Jiang Yuan shook her head, “No need, I drove myself here.”
She watched Si Heng leave, then lowered her eyes to look at the kitten in her arms, chuckling softly, “Thank you for your help, little loli.”
In mid-January, Gu Lingling’s case was solved. The two men who checked into Villa No. 6 were the murderers.
The man surnamed Li was Gu Lingling’s online boyfriend.
He specialized in finding young and beautiful girls, inviting them out under the guise of romance and vacation, and using their bodies for financial gain.
He coaxed Gu Lingling to hide in a suitcase to avoid surveillance.
He drugged Gu Lingling’s food and drink, causing her to have relations with another man while unconscious and recording the entire process.
Gu Lingling broke down after regaining consciousness. During a conflict with the man surnamed Li, her heart stopped, and she missed the opportunity for rescue.
Fearing discovery, the man surnamed Li hid Gu Lingling’s corpse under the bed in a room on the second floor of Villa No. 6.
The police detected Gu Lingling’s DNA in the hair that fell from the man surnamed Li’s suitcase.

Jiang Yuan let out a long sigh and turned off the news.
She put down her phone, picked up an apple slice, and asked while eating, “Sister, what time are we picking up Zhan Zhan and Momo?”
“We can leave in ten minutes,” Jiang Die said, coming out of the kitchen with egg tarts in one hand and chicken wings in the other.
Jiang Yuan took a deep breath, “It smells so good.”
“Eat while it’s hot,” Jiang Die said with a smile.
Jiang Yuan took two egg tarts and handed one to her, “Let’s eat together.”
Jiang Die took the egg tart and sat beside her. Before she could take a bite, the doorbell suddenly rang.
“Who is it?” Jiang Yuan asked, biting into a hot egg tart.
“I’ll go see,” Jiang Die said, also finding it strange, and put down her egg tart to get up and open the door.
Seeing the man standing at the entrance, her face changed slightly. She wanted to close the door, but he reached out and held it open.
“Jiang Die, you don’t welcome me? Your house smells so good, just like you.” The man’s words were greasy and vulgar.
Jiang Die’s face was cold, and she said displeasedly, “Please show some respect!”
“Sister, what’s wrong?” Jiang Yuan also walked to the door and saw a man with greasy middle-parted hair, a fleshy mole with long hairs on his nose, and a repulsive, shifty look.

The mole man was initially stunned by Jiang Yuan’s beauty and wanted to look at her greedily for a while longer. Unexpectedly hearing her say that, he became angry.

Jiang Yuan couldn’t be bothered to listen to his barking and put her arm around Jiang Die’s shoulder, “Sister, who is this ugly guy?”

The mole man suddenly started laughing, “Little girl, it’s not easy for your sister, a single mother, to raise two children. I feel sorry for her. How can she not have a man by her side?”
Upon hearing this, Jiang Yuan knew what this ugly man was planning.
She also smiled, “You’re right, it’s not good to not have a man around.”
The mole man thought he had a chance and smiled until his eye corners were full of wrinkles, “You’re quite sensible.”
“However, my sister is looking for someone who is over 1.8 meters tall, as handsome as the Four Heavenly Kings in their youth, and whose bank card balance is longer than his ID card,” Jiang Yuan’s smile became even more brilliant.
The mole man was so angry that the mole on his lip twitched, “You’re dreaming! Your sister has two burdens, you should be happy I even fancy her!”
