Chapter 300: Yunyun Really Dislikes Him
Xiao Xu heard Jiang Yuan say this and recalled what He Linwen had said earlier.
“Then He Linwen must be lying.”
“What did He Linwen say?” Kang Jiaoli asked eagerly.
Xiao Xu: “He said Yunyun often sent him WeChat messages after they broke up.”
“What exactly is going on?” Kang Jiaoli frowned tightly, “What is He Linwen up to?”
“Ms. Kang, in your eyes, what kind of person is He Linwen?” He Lewei continued to ask.
Kang Jiaoli’s face was full of sorrow: “I… I used to think he was an obedient and sensible child. He had good grades from a young age, a good job, was very filial, compassionate, and adopted stray cats.”
“He adopted stray cats?” Jiang Yuan’s gaze shifted slightly.
Kang Jiaoli nodded: “Yes, he even cleared out a room for the stray cats to live in.”
“What about Yunyun?” Jiang Yuan asked, “Does Yunyun have any pets at home?”
Kang Jiaoli said: “Yunyun doesn’t have pets, but a few months ago, a good friend of hers was going abroad for a while and entrusted her cat to Yunyun’s care.”
Xiao Xu’s eyes lit up and she immediately asked, “Ms. Kang, is it convenient to take us to Yunyun’s place?”
“Yes.” Kang Jiaoli agreed, then suddenly remembered something, “By the way, Yunyun has a surveillance camera installed at home to watch the cat.”
“That’s great,” He Lewei said, “Let’s set off for Yunyun’s house now.”
When Fang Mengyun graduated from high school, her family bought her a small two-bedroom house.
After graduating from university, she moved into the house herself and would occasionally go home on weekends.
Kang Jiaoli took out the spare key to open the door, and Xiao Xu handed her a pair of shoe covers and gloves.
After the door opened, the sensor light at the entrance hall turned on.
Kang Jiaoli pressed a switch on the wall, and the lights in the dining room, the main living room light, and the strip lights instantly illuminated.
Although the house was small, it was clean and cozy.
After looking around, they didn’t find the surveillance camera for watching the cat or see any sign of the cat. Xiao Xu asked in confusion, “Didn’t you say Yunyun had a cat at home?”
“There is,” Kang Jiaoli frowned and looked around. “I don’t know where it went.”
Jiang Yuan glanced at her, “Ms. Kang, do you know the cat’s name?”
“Let me see.” Kang Jiaoli took out her phone and searched through the videos her daughter had sent her. Tears began to well up in her eyes again.
She sobbed softly, raised her hand to wipe away her tears, and clicked on a video.
Fang Mengyun, with her hair in a bun, held a Golden Shorthair cat in her arms and smiled brightly at the camera, “Mom, this is Qiaoqiao. Who do you think is cuter, it or me?”
Kang Jiaoli stared at the video, watched it several times, and said with a tremble, “The cat’s name is Qiaoqiao.”
“Okay,” Jiang Yuan nodded slightly and softly called out, “Qiaoqiao, are you there? I’m Yunyun’s friend. Are you hungry? Do you want to eat?”
Everyone fell silent.
Then, a faint movement could be heard from the room.
“Meow~” a cat’s meow came out.
Jiang Yuan looked in the direction of the sound and saw a Golden Shorthair cat walking out with cautious steps.
The Golden Shorthair cat, Qiaoqiao, meowed as it walked, “The cat is so hungry…”
“Qiaoqiao is hungry,” Jiang Yuan said softly, “I’ll get you something to eat.”
Qiaoqiao walked up to her, tilted its head, and meowed at her, “I’m so hungry, really so hungry.”
Jiang Yuan looked around, her gaze fell on a spot in the living room, and she walked over, scooped a spoonful of cat food, and poured it into a food bowl.
Seeing this, Qiaoqiao, who was very hungry, rushed forward without greeting and began to eat with muffled sounds.
Kang Jiaoli looked around the cozy room and, in a daze, seemed to see Yunyun with her hair in a bun, wearing pajamas, eating snail noodles at the dining table.
Freshly bloomed lilies were in a glass vase in the living room; Yunyun loved the smell of lilies the most.
A half-finished comic book lay on the sofa, with the TV remote pressing down on the pages… everywhere were traces of Yunyun’s life, but Yunyun would never return.
Kang Jiaoli bit her lower lip tightly, weeping silently, her heart aching more and more.
She turned her head and saw a photo frame on the TV cabinet; it was a group photo of their family of three.
The quiet room was gradually filled with the woman’s suppressed sobs.
Qiaoqiao, having slightly filled its belly, was drawn by the crying and turned its head. A look of confusion appeared in its round cat pupils.
“Why is Yunyun’s mother crying?”
“Qiaoqiao, do you know Yunyun’s mother?” Jiang Yuan asked.
“Yunyun introduced her mother to the cat,” Qiaoqiao said. Qiaoqiao realized this human girl could understand it and asked eagerly, “By the way, where is Yunyun? Why hasn’t she been back for so long?”
“Yunyun had an accident,” Jiang Yuan squatted in front of Qiaoqiao.
Hearing this, Qiaoqiao’s furry face turned very serious, “An accident? What happened to Yunyun?”
“She went to another world,” Jiang Yuan said softly. “Qiaoqiao, do you know He Linwen?”
“He Linwen!” Qiaoqiao was very sensitive to this name. “The cat knows him. Yunyun hated him!”
“Did Yunyun hate He Linwen very much? Why?”
“Yunyun said he was very annoying.”
“What do you know, can you tell me in detail?”
Kang Jiaoli stared at Jiang Yuan squatting there talking to Qiaoqiao, and she was so stunned that she even forgot to cry.
“She… why is she talking to Qiaoqiao?” she asked in astonishment.
Xiao Xu explained: “This is a special consultant specially appointed by the country for criminal investigation. She can establish communication with animals and help the police accurately pinpoint key clues.”
Although Kang Jiaoli didn’t fully understand, she still nodded, “Does this mean she can help find the murderer who harmed Yunyun?”
“Yes,” Xiao Xu nodded, “Consultant Jiang has already assisted us in solving many cases.”
Hearing this, Kang Jiaoli quickly wiped away her tears and stared intently at Jiang Yuan.
Qiaoqiao also heard Xiao Xu and felt that this human girl who could understand cat language was very powerful.
It quickly meowed: “Consultant, He Linwen was originally Yunyun’s boyfriend, but they broke up later.”
Jiang Yuan: “Qiaoqiao, did Yunyun tell you the reason for the breakup?”
“She did,” Qiaoqiao said, nodding its fluffy little head. “The cat remembers Yunyun saying He Linwen was a playboy and had added many girls on his phone and followed many girls in the same city on Weibo.”
Jiang Yuan frowned and asked, “So Yunyun discovered these things and mentioned breaking up with He Linwen?”
“Yes!” Qiaoqiao said, “Yunyun was very angry. She said she found He Linwen’s actions disgusting and unacceptable. She told He Linwen she wanted to break up.”
Fang Mengyun went home that day after mentioning the breakup, and He Linwen chased her to the house.
“Yunyun, can you just let me explain?” he said, his face full of eagerness.
Fang Mengyun looked at him with disgust, her face dark, “What’s there to explain? Isn’t it obvious? Didn’t you already confess to that girl named Yiyi?”
