An Unorthodox Cultivation Insight – Chapter 215

My Dao

Chapter 215: My Dao

The Wang Fei asked the boy, “What exactly are you cultivating?”

The boy said, “I cultivate the way of controlling myself, by controlling my thoughts to control my emotions.

Emotions are a very important reason for illness in people. When people have negative emotions, they are prone to illness. Generally, there are five types: first is anger. Anger damages the liver. People who often lose their temper generally have poor liver function, and vice versa. People with poor liver function are more likely to lose their temper.

Bad temper damages the liver, and poor liver function makes temper difficult to control. When liver fire is too strong, one cannot contain it when angered. Losing one’s temper easily harms oneself and others, called ‘fire burning the forest of merit.’ This is because losing your temper makes others unhappy and yourself unhappy.

Second is hatred. Being petty and holding grudges is called hatred. Hatred damages the heart, leading to high blood pressure, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, cerebral infarction, and myocardial infarction.

Third is resentment. Resentment heavily damages the spleen and stomach. When the spleen and stomach are weak, eating anything makes them feel cold, even causing coldness in the uterus. Resentment means blaming others for problems and not reflecting on oneself, being stubborn and argumentative. This makes growth difficult.

Fourth is annoyance. Annoyance is trouble, becoming inexplicably pessimistic and negative, being jealous, comparing oneself to others, and being very sensitive. Annoyance damages the lungs, causing cough and asthma.

Fifth is frustration. Frustration is being unhappy. Starting to feel unhappy and displeased over small matters. Still feeling resentful after many years recalling an event. Disliking communication and interaction, keeping things to oneself. This damages the kidneys.

Anger, hatred, resentment, annoyance, and frustration. Whichever of these five emotions arises damages the corresponding organ, and whichever organ is damaged makes it easier for these five emotions to arise. Therefore, when you are at odds with someone, you are ultimately at odds with yourself.

My Wuji Sword Sect cultivates by controlling thoughts to manage one’s emotions, thereby maintaining a constant state of peace, longevity, and a joyful heart. A joyful heart is not being ecstatic to the point of madness, but a continuous state of peaceful joy. In this state, one’s body will progressively improve. Negative elements previously influenced by bad emotions are slowly transformed, and one’s qi and blood are adjusted in a positive direction.

Others cultivate qi and blood to calm the spirit, while I achieve automatic adjustment of qi and blood by calming the spirit and nourishing the spirit from the root.

In other words, it’s like hitting them all into submission from the source. What mind patterns, what emotions, what spirit calming, qi and blood, everything is under my control.

To put it simply, others do things for the final goal, while I directly work on that goal and act in opposition.

Others influence the body through external means and then adjust health. I do not rely on external things; I directly adjust my mindset to influence bodily health. This is my way, the way that uses the mind and spirit as medicine.”

“How does one cultivate this?”

“The first step is to make awareness an instinct, then transform thoughts into controllable things. Treat all past experiences, both good and bad, as tools. If you need joy, think of a joyful event. If you need sadness, think of a sad event. I experience whatever emotion I need, hehe. The source of those emotions comes from past experiences. Use experiences as tools. If there are no experiences, one can use the mind to create imagery. The goal is to obtain the ability to control emotions.

Moreover, awareness continuously exists throughout this process. That is to say, I can watch my emotions arise at any time and stop them at will. When emotions arise, the body secretes various hormones.

When happy, dopamine, acetylcholine, norepinephrine, endorphins, and oxytocin are secreted.

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter related to human emotions and sensations, playing a role in transmitting feelings of happiness and excitement. It regulates the central nervous system and performs various physiological functions. Therefore, during happiness, the brain mainly produces dopamine, which plays a chemical reaction role in emotional changes and communication. Conversely, when a person is overly tense and in a low mood, excessive catecholamines are released in the body, causing an increase in adrenaline secretion, leading to physiological reactions such as hand tremors, sweating, spasms, and convulsions.

Maintaining a happy mood is very beneficial for the body. A joyful mood can improve the body’s internal circulation. According to scientific research, people who frequently maintain a happy mood have a relatively balanced endocrine state and significantly increased metabolism. This state can effectively prevent various chronic diseases and can also effectively delay aging. Furthermore, for individuals who are already ill, maintaining a relaxed and happy mood daily is very effective for recovery. This is one of the main reasons why doctors often tell patients to maintain a happy mood. In addition, frequently maintaining a happy mood can effectively reduce the incidence of depression, which is quite effective for many people who are psychologically suppressed.

When angry, large amounts of adrenaline, thyroid hormone, and norepinephrine are secreted.

Adrenaline is a hormone and neurotransmitter released by the adrenal glands. When the human body experiences emotions like excitement, fear, or tension, this chemical substance is easily secreted, which can accelerate breathing, heart rate, and blood flow, providing more energy to the body and making reactions more rapid.

Thyroid hormone is a hormone secreted by the thyroid gland. When the human body encounters danger and experiences emotional tension, it may stimulate the hypothalamus to release thyrotropin-releasing hormone, increasing the content of thyroid-stimulating hormone in the blood. Thyroid-stimulating hormone further acts on the thyroid gland, causing it to secrete large amounts of thyroid hormone.

Norepinephrine is synthesized and secreted by the adrenal medulla but in smaller quantities. Norepinephrine in the circulating blood primarily comes from the adrenal medulla. When the human body is in an angry state, it easily promotes the adrenal medulla to synthesize and secrete, leading to increased norepinephrine secretion.

I generally do not study these things; I only maintain continuous joy. However, when the body is weak and needs adrenaline, I will adjust my emotions to an angry state and retreat when I feel I have had enough.

I remember an emperor in ancient times who was gravely ill and bedridden. All the court physicians were consulted, and countless doctors were sought in the common folk, but to no avail. Just as he was about to pass away, a supremely powerful doctor arrived. He pointed at the emperor’s nose and began to scold him fiercely, enraging him greatly. After spitting out a mouthful of blood, the emperor became spirited and wanted to strike out.

Hahahaha, I have cultivated myself to be like a formidable deity, the Tai Sui of the mortal world, capable of initiating and ceasing my various emotions and controlling my bodily hormones. Or, it can be said that no matter what external or psychological emotions arise, I am actually terrifyingly calm, ohoho~!”

“What does that mean?”

The boy said, “… It doesn’t mean much, just that I am very powerful, superhuman. You can call me Superman, hahaha, or you can call me a god, hehehe.”
