Chapter 207: I Am Not Uranus
The Old God King heard this and couldn’t help but smile bitterly: “If we do not comply with your demands, will you erase our spirituality? Then, bestow spirituality anew?”
“Just like… just like our former Father God, until a brand-new spiritual consciousness that fully obeys your will is born?”
Zeus’s expression remained indifferent: “I will not erase the spirituality of any living being; I will only bestow spirituality upon living beings. I have never intended to act like the Old Heavenly Lord.”
Cronus did not believe a single word of what Zeus said.
He did not believe that a god, after possessing such absolute power, would not use it!
This was the authority he had most coveted throughout endless years!
He simply gave up entirely, sneering: “Fine! Then I tell you! No matter what you do, even if you annihilate my spirituality, I will never submit to you! I will never hand over my authority!”
“My words are now finished. Come on! Annihilate my spirituality! Ha! I want to see how many bestowals it will take for you to get a consciousness that fully obeys you!”
Zeus shook his head slightly with a hint of disdain, sighing: “My Father God, when will you finally understand that the power of gods is not merely for destruction?”
“You, as the lord of ‘Creation’, why can you not comprehend the true meaning of ‘Creation’ at all?”
At this moment, Coeus suddenly smiled bitterly from the side: “Esteemed Zeus, it is I and Phoebe who underestimated your magnanimity and benevolence. We are willing to offer our authority; no matter how you dispose of us, we accept it willingly.”
“We have only one last request: our children, Leto and Asteria, if possible, we entrust them to you.”
Zeus did not respond to this, but once again raised his right hand toward Cronus.
Cronus’s already extremely ugly expression instantly flashed with endless fear, and then he gritted his teeth, staring fixedly at Zeus.
However, in the next moment, his spiritual consciousness was completely stalled, and he had lost all ability to think.
Immediately after, Zeus effortlessly separated his Law God divinity and his absolutely solid, indestructible divine body!
Then, with a relaxed and casual posture, he clearly severed the brilliant, unparalleled, immensely powerful spiritual consciousness of this Old God King—which was second only to his own—and its Law origin essence!
One is one, two is two, as clear as can be.
Additionally, he conveniently took away most of this Old God King’s power as well.
The three Primal Titans on the side felt infinite fear and shock in their hearts, but they could do nothing.
Because they clearly knew that all living beings in the universe, regardless of their essence, were fundamentally no different in the face of the current Zeus.
Zeus unceremoniously accepted this Old God King’s supreme “Creation” authority and most of his power.
As for the Old God King’s “Growth” and “Harvest” authorities, he temporarily took them in.
Afterward, he casually waved his hand, and this Old God King’s spiritual consciousness reunited with his already “purified” divine body, and Zeus conveniently removed the Thunder Chains from his divinity and divine body.
This Old God King remained extremely powerful even now.
But he had become purely a “God of Matter”; his remaining power was insufficient to escape Tartarus, so the Thunder Chains were no longer necessary.
He no longer had any Laws.
All of his current spirituality and consciousness were housed within this divine body, ranked among the top five strongest in the universe.
If this divine body were completely destroyed, his divine consciousness would be exposed; his divine consciousness could truly be annihilated, and then he would truly die.
Zeus temporarily did not restore Cronus’s thought; he was too lazy to listen to this Old God King’s clamor filled with anger and unwillingness.
He slowly turned his gaze toward the Coeus couple; these once supremely wise gods now only managed a bitter smile, their eyes devoid of any will to resist—they had completely accepted their fate.
However, Zeus did not change the established process due to their cooperation.
Just as with Cronus, he first stalled their thought, then used his unrivaled “Severance” authority to precisely sever and separate their innate Law origins from the depths of their divinity.
The origin symbolizing intelligence, inquiry, insight, and thought, as well as the authority representing brilliance, radiance, purity, and brightness—the Law origins of these two bright intelligence Titans were all calmly taken by Zeus.
Finally, Zeus’s gaze fell on Iapetus.
This Weaver of Death’s divinity was already shrouded in twilight, yet it still maintained an admirable calmness.
Meeting Zeus’s gaze, he slowly said: “Great Son of Cronus, I have a question I wish to ask you, hoping you can resolve my doubt.”
Zeus, just about to act, paused upon hearing this, nodded, and said with a tone of respect: “Esteemed Iapetus, speak.”
Iapetus gazed at him with an inquiring look, asking doubtfully: “You possess absolute authority and power sufficient to thoroughly resolve us ‘hidden dangers,’ including my foolish son, who, with his sins, may not even qualify to be cast into Tartarus.”
“Though we are powerless before you, and you are indeed the invincible king of the universe, I believe you are not a arrogant and conceited god.”
“Since you could resolve all hidden dangers once and for all, why do you still keep us?”
“I admit that Tartarus may be a more terrifying punishment than completely annihilating consciousness, but I also do not believe that with your magnanimity, you would deliberately torment us in this way.”
“So, why go to such great lengths to act in this manner?”
Zeus nodded slightly, acknowledging Iapetus’s rational words.
He said softly: “Esteemed Iapetus, you are correct. From the most rational perspective, what I should do now is completely annihilate your spirituality.”
“In that way, all problems would be effortlessly resolved, and no hidden dangers, however small, would remain. For me, the new God King, this is undoubtedly the most advantageous choice and decision.”
“However,”
Zeus’s tone became utterly candid and serious as he expounded a supreme rule he had set for himself, which he must strictly adhere to: “Even if I am absolutely invincible, absolutely supreme, the Supreme God King possessing absolute power and authority, perhaps I too would regret, and I too would have regrets.”
“For me, whatever happens in this universe, I may be able to control it, and I may be able to change it. But there is one thing—even I am helpless against it.”
“That is—spirituality’s self is sole.”
“I can easily erase a ‘self,’ and I can easily bestow a new ‘spirituality,’ but the spirituality that is bestowed anew has become a brand-new ‘self.'”
“Even if I can endow it with all the memories it once had, and if I wish, I can completely replicate and bestow its original personality as well.”
“But we all know, it is not, is simply not.”
“Only this is absolutely irretrievable.”
Zeus and Iapetus locked eyes, their gazes utterly serious: “For too many things, we may still have room for salvage; the ideas we hold now may change in the future; errors once committed can be corrected in the future. But only complete annihilation is irretrievable.”
“Since I have other methods to resolve the problem, I will absolutely not choose this most irretrievable method, no matter how simple or convenient it appears.”
“For this decision dam symbolizing ‘irretrievability,’ I will not easily open even the smallest invisible breach.”
“Because I do not know, once I habituate to using the method of annihilating living beings’ spirituality to resolve all problems in the simplest way, whether I will still adopt those better but slightly more complex methods?”
“Sins should be punished, but there are many ways to punish. In the infinite river of time, no matter what errors are committed, one day, their sins may be cleansed.”
“When time is stretched sufficiently long, what are a few wrongs committed in a brief life? What are momentary struggles and ideas?”
“Yet, if because of a momentary decision, one simply and completely reduces a ‘self’ to the void.”
“Then, if much, much later, I regret it, how then could I salvage it?”
“Moreover, am I guaranteed never to err? No, I will err too. Even if no living being questions my decisions, I myself know.”
“I too possess vibrant emotions and desires, and sometimes, due to impulse, allow my emotions to take control. For many things, even if I err, there is still room for salvage. But only complete annihilation—even I am helpless against it.”
“So, how can I so indulge myself? Thus, I have decided: from beginning to end, I will not use this simplest and most dangerous method.”
“Because I do not want to regret, nor do I want to have regrets.”
