Chapter 3: Do You Believe In The Future?
……
【Do you believe in the future? Do you think next year’s you will still be in Girls’ Generation? How about the title of fashion designer for sunglasses, and the brand name Blanc? Isn’t it very familiar? Do you think I plagiarized your idea, or will you choose to believe in the future?】
……
After continuously running comeback schedules for more than two months, Jessica originally thought she could finally have a few days off to rest, but early this morning she received a phone call saying there was a sudden advertising pictorial that needed her to shoot.
Having debuted for many years, Jessica had encountered this kind of nonsense more than once or twice, so even though annoyed, she just pushed the time back to the afternoon.
Then she slept until noon, and after getting up and glancing at the messy blueprints on the desk, she lightly sighed and walked into the bathroom to freshen up.
After that, she simply put on a pure white sweater and tight pants, then draped a woolen coat over them and went out.
Meanwhile, the company’s nanny van was already waiting in the downstairs parking lot, and after picking up Jessica, it headed straight to the studio for this shoot.
After getting out of the car, Jessica slightly furrowed her brows looking at the inconspicuous signboard of the photography studio; this completely didn’t match her current identity.
However, even so, she didn’t say anything, just vaguely realizing that this so-called pictorial shoot was probably some private arrangement by certain people in the company.
She felt helpless inside, but also knew that both she and the group needed this promotion and planning; messing it up wouldn’t be good for anyone, so she might as well contribute this half-day rest to this boring shoot.
Just the eyes under her sunglasses became a bit more indifferent, completely not wanting to speak.
Soon, Jessica arrived at the photography studio following the stairs, first very officially greeting some staff members at the studio, cooperatively leaving a few group photos and signatures, then quickly walked into Studio 2.
Following behind her was a slightly chubby female photographer, her face still flushed with excitement.
Then came the makeup and changing process, which took about an hour or so, before Jessica finally got everything done and walked in front of the lens, where she also saw a boy standing under the umbrella light.
His appearance was uncommon among boys on the peninsula, with distinct clear features; the only messy long hair made him look a bit disheveled.
Originally Jessica didn’t care about this, but she soon noticed that the other’s gaze was fixed on her, with a certain uneasy aggressiveness in his eyes.
As an idol, Jessica was already used to all kinds of gazes.
But at this moment, this boy’s gaze was a bit too sharp, making her somewhat uneasy.
Despite trying her best to restrain herself, she still couldn’t ignore this discomfort.
This was a natural instinct produced by her body, which she couldn’t control.
What she could control was only to ignore that gaze, coldly maintain professionalism, and continue completing the shoot.
Fortunately, apart from the gaze being a bit intense, the other didn’t have any excessive actions during work, so Jessica slightly relaxed.
However, when the shoot ended and Jessica got into the nanny van preparing to go home, the situation took a dramatic turn.
She found a note in the pocket of her woolen coat, and upon taking it out to look, her face instantly became stunned and shocked.
The note wrote about the future, sunglasses design, Blanc……
These words were like a sharp sword stabbing into her heart.
From disdain to astonishment, then to shock, disbelief, and various small expressions cycling through, performing a face-changing drama on her delicate charming face; at this moment, Jessica could completely compete for the film empress acting skills.
She had originally brushed off that so-called future in front as a joke.
But the following sentence about sunglasses design, and that brand name that only existed in her heart, completely stunned her.
Especially that brand name, Jessica hadn’t even told her most intimate family or her sister, because it was all just an idea.
She had never imagined that on such an ordinary day, it would appear on a note handed to her by a ‘person with intentions’.
Faced with this situation, Jessica couldn’t help but overthink.
Her small hand nervously clutching that note, her gaze scanning it over and over, lingering on that sentence longer each time.
Finally taking a long cold breath, she flipped the note over and saw the address and time left by the other.
That address was very familiar to her, near an apartment building in Gangnam District.
Time, 7 p.m.
Now the choice was in Jessica’s hands, whether to go or not to the appointment, up to her to decide.
At the same time, Jessica also began frantically recalling her memories from just shooting the pictorial, trying to find the person who left her the note.
Thinking like this, from afternoon until evening, a figure slowly emerged in her mind.
Upon clearly seeing the other’s appearance, Jessica abruptly stood up, grabbed her coat and headed to the door, preparing to go out.
Behind her, Krystal who had just returned looked at her, “Older sister, where are you going?”
“To see the future.”
……
……
Night’s dark curtain quickly fell.
At 7 o’clock, Lin Xiuyuan, having just eaten dinner, crossed the road to near his residential area apartment, standing at the park side gate waiting.
Soon, a luxury car slowly stopped in front of him, the car window rolled down, Jessica coldly gazing at him, her tone carrying a hint of provocation: “It really is you, what do you want with me?”
“I want to invite you back to my apartment.”
Facing Jessica’s directness, Lin Xiuyuan didn’t beat around the bush either, directly expressing his thought.
Hearing this sentence, Jessica’s brows tightly furrowed, her gaze instantly becoming vigilant.
If not for that note’s hint, she would have already stepped on the accelerator and left, or even cursed him out.
Understanding the other’s concerns, Lin Xiuyuan took an industrial thick rope from his pocket and handed it to her, “I know what you’re worried about. How about you tie me up tight and we go together, because the evidence proving those words is in the apartment.”
Inside the driver’s seat, Jessica stared dead at Lin Xiuyuan for a long time; the other’s action of holding the rope at the car door also drew a few glances from some roadside passersby.
Fortunately, no one recognized the woman in the car wearing sunglasses and a mask as Girls’ Generation member Jessica, or else the evening’s news and internet would have a field day.
After a good while, Jessica pressed the car door unlock button, “Get in.”
Lin Xiuyuan said nothing more, went around the front of the car and sat in the front passenger seat, continuing to hand the rope to her.
“No need, the address.” Jessica coldly replied.
Seeing this, Lin Xiuyuan directly pointed to the apartment across the road, “It’s right there.”
Jessica, glancing at the apartment residential area across, looked at Lin Xiuyuan somewhat unexpectedly; from what she knew, the rent inside wasn’t cheap, let alone buying a place.
The latter slightly smiled, as if seeing through her thoughts, then gave the answer with one sentence, “Haunted house.”
This sentence made Jessica, who was driving, tremble slightly with both hands, but she quickly adjusted her emotions and breathing, turning the car towards the opposite side.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the parking lot downstairs of the apartment building where Lin Xiuyuan lived.
As Jessica parked the car, Lin Xiuyuan said again, “Really no need to tie me up? Not afraid I’m some bad guy?”
Jessica’s answer was very direct, “I’ve never mentioned Blanc to anyone else, nor put it in writing, but you still knew. Facing this supernatural phenomenon, does tying you or not make any difference?”
“Then why don’t you call the police.”
“What?”
“Seriously, I don’t even know if I can give you evidence, let’s go up and see first.”
Hearing the words, Lin Xiuyuan casually folded the rope bought roadside and put it in his pocket.
And his words made Jessica, who followed him out of the car, her eyes blaze with anger; while catching up to his steps, her cherry lips were tightly pursed, her small hand in the pocket gripping the stun baton tightly not daring to let go, preparing to deal with any sudden situation at any time.
Soon, arriving at Lin Xiuyuan’s apartment entrance via the elevator, Jessica saw him turn back to look at her once at the door.
As if asking if she really wasn’t going to tie him.
After discovering Jessica still ignored him, Lin Xiuyuan didn’t say anything more, opened the room door and walked in.
Standing at the doorway, Jessica tensely gazed at everything behind the door, ensuring no one else was ambushing before falling silent for a long time, until the stimulation and mystery of the words on that note prompted her to step forward and follow into this unfamiliar apartment.
Inside the room, Lin Xiuyuan who entered first was now standing at the storage room door, his gaze somewhat expectantly watching the entryway.
Seeing Jessica finally come in, his gaze instantly became resolute.
Then decisively gripping the brass handle, he opened the room door, making an inviting gesture towards Jessica, “Please, everything future you want to know is behind this door.”
