Chapter 134: First Date
Jin Shi Yue glanced at her, his voice indifferent: “Leave.”
Not leaving earlier, not leaving later, but choosing to leave precisely when someone knocked.
“You stand still, I’ll see who it is first.”
After Lian Li finished speaking, she walked to the door. Before opening it, she glanced back. Jin Shi Yue was standing there lazily, hands in his pockets, exuding a cold aura.
Even the hair of the Jin Family members exuded an unattainable nobility.
Certain that he wouldn’t act rashly, Lian Li opened the door. The gap was small, revealing only half of her face.
The person knocking outside was He Shu.
He Shu smiled at her, “Miss Lian, President Jin is waiting for you in the restaurant.”
Oh, yesterday Jin Yan Ting asked if she had any plans for the morning, and she said no, then he suggested they have breakfast together.
Who knew Jin Shi Yue would show up tonight.
The sudden change of plans was strange. Lian Li said, “Mm, I’ll be down soon. You can go attend to your business.”
He Shu smiled gently and nodded before leaving.
Lian Li closed the door. The moment she turned, she was startled by the man who had approached without her noticing, letting out a small cry.
The space between them was small, and she almost bumped into his chest, her cheek lightly brushing against his silk satin shirt.
Jin Shi Yue’s eyes were as dark as ink, gazing deeply at her, his voice cold and deep: “Having breakfast alone with Jin Yan Ting?”
“Eating in the hotel restaurant doesn’t count as alone,” Lian Li said.
The implication was that he wasn’t included.
Jin Shi Yue’s expression was blank: “What about me?”
Lian Li tentatively asked, “Should I call your assistant to arrange your favorite breakfast?”
Jin Shi Yue’s eyes were deep and cold, fixed on her. He sneered, “He’s your boyfriend, isn’t he?”
Lian Li could tell he was being petty but didn’t understand why.
Jin Yan Ting was his brother, and they had a good relationship. Jin Shi Yue wouldn’t be upset with Jin Yan Ting, so was he angry with her?
Lian Li tilted her head up, her obsidian-like eyes blinking at him. After a moment, she raised her hand, hooked her arms around his neck, stood on her tiptoes, and pressed her lips to his chin.
A light, soft kiss.
A dark glint flashed in Jin Shi Yue’s eyes. Before Lian Li could pull away, he wrapped an arm around her waist and suddenly lowered his head.
He didn’t kiss her cheek or her lips, but his thin lips pressed against the spot below her neck and bit down with a little force.
A faint pain spread, and Lian Li gasped.
After a while, Jin Shi Yue finished kissing and pinched her slender waist, his voice slightly hoarse, “Who is your boyfriend?”
Lian Li didn’t like him acting like this and turned her head away, “I don’t know.”
Silence fell in the room.
Jin Shi Yue stared at the delicate-faced girl in front of him for a long time before slowly saying, “Playing dumb.”
Lian Li pried his hand from her waist and said lightly, “It’s definitely not you.”
Before Jin Shi Yue could say anything, Lian Li ushered him out of the room.
Jin Shi Yue, who had been shut out by Lian Li, was silent for two seconds, then suddenly chuckled. He took out his mobile phone and called Lian Li. When she answered, he asked, “Are you angry?”
Lian Li calmly replied, “I’m very busy today.”
Jin Shi Yue said, “I’ll eat breakfast by myself, you don’t need to accompany me. Are you still mad?”
After listening, Lian Li didn’t respond and hung up the phone.
She walked into the bathroom and stood in front of the washbasin, pulling open her collar to peek. A very obvious red mark was visible on her fair skin.
He was being wicked, leaving a hickey on her collarbone, intending for her to have breakfast with another man with it.
Lian Li wasn’t really busy, but Jin Shi Yue truly was.
The Eldest Young Master had deigned to spend a lot of time with her, and it was time for him to attend to the proper business of a young master from a prominent family.
In the morning, Lian Li had breakfast with Jin Yan Ting at the hotel restaurant. After eating, he mentioned he was busy that evening and wouldn’t be able to attend the concert, suggesting they go tomorrow.
Lian Li was indifferent. She hummed in agreement and didn’t linger, heading out to go shopping.
Jin Yan Ting instructed one of his bodyguards to follow her. Since someone would be doing the heavy lifting, Lian Li was happy to accept and didn’t refuse.
She wasn’t driving and didn’t want to squeeze onto the subway.
The subways in Shanghai were cold and crowded.
Of course, the Capital City wasn’t much better; densely populated in a bustling metropolis, traffic was a common problem.
Lian Li used her mobile phone to quickly calculate her total account balance, then switched pages to check the US Nasdaq stocks. Currently, there were no disheartening messages.
Hang Lung Plaza had a comprehensive brand portfolio, featuring various top luxury brands in fashion, jewelry, and watches. Lian Li browsed around Hang Lung Plaza, with the bodyguard-turned-driver following her with shopping bags.
She had shopped enough and, catching a glimpse of something out of the corner of her eye, paused for a few seconds before turning and walking towards it.
The sales manager inside, wearing a work uniform, greeted her with a smile.
Lian Li said, “I need men’s sunglasses.”
The sales manager immediately led her to the men’s section and patiently explained the types, styles, and functions, such as UV protection. Lian Li didn’t pay much attention; it wasn’t for her, so she only cared about the aesthetics.
After buying the sunglasses, Lian Li ran into three socialites. They also had bodyguards behind them.
Lian Li recognized the socialite in the middle; it was Lu Yan Ying, Lu Hansheng’s younger sister.
Lu Yan Ying was very outgoing, even more cheerful than a sunflower. Upon making eye contact with Lian Li, she immediately walked over in her high heels and affectionately linked arms with Lian Li.
“Oh my, Lian Li, it’s been so long! You’ve gotten even prettier.”
Lian Li smiled, “I was just wondering who that beautiful lady was, and it turns out to be you.”
Her compliments were sincere, her smile and words not at all superficial.
Lu Yan Ying glanced at the bodyguard behind Lian Li, “Are you leaving?”
“Mm.” Lian Li raised her hand and checked the time. The red jade bracelet on her wrist clinked softly. “I have a performance tonight.”
“Have a great performance!” Lu Yan Ying said with a bright smile. “Let’s get together when you have time.”
Lian Li smiled and bid her farewell.
Lu Yan Ying’s friends looked at Lian Li’s retreating figure and curiously asked, “Who is she?”
Lu Yan Ying replied, “Someone from the Jin Family in the Capital City.”
Her friends were surprised, “A young lady from the Jin Family?”
Another sharp-eyed friend stared blankly and stammered, “Yan Ying, the bracelet on her wrist… isn’t that…”
Lu Yan Ying, being lively and cheerful, thought for two seconds and giggled, “Oh dear, even my brother can’t manage the Jin Family’s affairs, so we shouldn’t either. It’s rare to have no strict elders today, let’s enjoy ourselves to the fullest!”

The concert at the Grand Theater that evening was standard and went smoothly as planned, with no major changes.
The performance ended at 9:30. Lian Li packed her cello into its case. Since there was another performance tomorrow night, she temporarily stored the cello in the Grand Theater’s large safe.
Lian Li wasn’t in a hurry to leave and greeted each musician individually. They all admired her: she played the cello well, had a good personality without airs, and was also beautiful.
Finally, Lian Li left the Grand Theater at 10:30.
At 10:30, the extravagant and decadent nightlife was just beginning.
She stood at the entrance, looking around, but didn’t see the bodyguard-turned-driver.
Had he left?
Lian Li took out her mobile phone to message He Shu. Just as she was halfway through typing, a gust of wind carrying a faint scent of smoke drifted over.
She turned her head to look.
Jin Shi Yue, with a cigarette dangling from his lips, squinted at her, a roguish smile on his face, “Who is Junior Sister looking for?”
