Chapter 235: The Eldest Young Master Gets Drunk and Acts Out
Lian Li acted as if she hadn’t heard, continuing to keep her eyes closed.
The crystal ceiling light in the bedroom was extinguished, leaving only the warm-toned wall lamp. Its faint light illuminated her face, which was as fair as snow and jade, with an excellent complexion.
Jin Shi Yue lowered his gaze to look at her, a smile playing on his lips.
His eyes were filled with her sleeping face, light and shadow melting into his pupils, revealing a tender affection that the moonlight could not compare to.
Lian Li couldn’t keep up the pretense and opened her eyes, her almond-shaped eyes carrying a hint of misty moisture.
She sniffed lightly, detecting a faint, cool scent of alcohol, and tilted her head up to look at Jin Shi Yue, “Did you drink?”
“A little.” Jin Shi Yue reached out and ruffled the back of her head.
Lian Li pushed herself up, intending to sit, but before she could, the man leaned in and pressed down, his head sinking heavily into her chest. His long arms wrapped around her slender waist, holding her tightly, fitting perfectly.
His body was tall and strong, like an unshakeable rock, trapping Lian Li in his embrace with great strength, as if afraid she would escape.
“You’re too heavy, you’re making my heart feel like it’s going to stop beating.” Lian Li tilted her neck back, taking a couple of deep breaths.
Jin Shi Yue lifted his head, burying it in her slender shoulder, a smile on his lips. “Junior Sister lacks exercise.”
Lian Li disagreed with his assessment. “No matter how much I exercise, I can’t withstand you pressing down like this.”
Jin Shi Yue teased, “Pressing down like what?”
He not only feigned ignorance but also held her tighter. Lian Li could clearly feel his hot, firm body through the silk fabric of her pajamas.
Lian Li pouted, not answering Jin Shi Yue’s question, and remained silent, letting him hold her for a moment.
The surroundings were silent. She asked softly, “Why are you different when you’re sick or injured?”
“How am I different?” Jin Shi Yue countered.
Lian Li carefully recalled how he looked when he was sick and explained her opinion. “When others are sick, their self-control decreases, and they appear vulnerable. When you’re sick, you look like a beast about to devour someone, very dangerous.”
He showed no vulnerability when injured either, even having the presence of mind to tease her.
“When others are injured, they are either silent or acting like they’re dying. When you’re injured, you’re more unrestrained than usual.”
Lian Li began to settle old scores. “You weren’t proper when you were sick either, you even kissed and bit me!”
Jin Shi Yue chuckled. “The former is a habit; the less clear-headed I am, the more vigilant I become. As for kissing you… consider it instinct.”
It was a habit formed since childhood. He was prone to getting sick when he was young, but he couldn’t escape his mentally unstable mother. Later, when he grew up and joined the military region, danger never disappeared just because he was sick or injured.
Every time he talked about past events, Jin Shi Yue was nonchalant, his words concise, as if casually mentioning someone else’s past, unrelated to him.
Lian Li blinked her long eyelashes, a faint shadow cast on her lower eyelids by the light.
Her mind involuntarily conjured the shocking wound Jin Shi Yue had that night, and her eyes began to water again, silently filling with tears.
Seeing her silence, Jin Shi Yue slightly distanced himself, and unexpectedly met her eyes, which were brimming with mist, tears about to fall.
The strings of his heart vibrated slowly. He cupped her face in his large hand, his thumb gently caressing the damp corners of her eyes.
“Why are you crying?”
Tears burst from her eyes, sliding wetly down Lian Li’s cheeks. She said with a choked voice, “I’m going abroad soon.”
“You’ll miss me?” Jin Shi Yue asked in a low voice, his tone exceptionally gentle.
Lian Li shook her head. “Not at all.”
Her tears continued to fall, a thin layer of moisture spreading across her fair skin. This “not at all” was not convincing in the slightest.
“Then what is it?” Jin Shi Yue asked patiently.
“Once I’m out, there won’t be any delicious official cuisine, Cantonese food, hot pot, or other Chinese food.” Lian Li sobbed, looking pitiful and adorable.
Jin Shi Yue was amused and exasperated. “That’s it?”
“What do you mean ‘that’s it’?” Lian Li clenched her fist and hit his chest. “This is very serious!”
No matter where she was or what happened, she wanted to eat well, drink well, dress well, and live well. The lack of rich and delicious Chinese food was indeed a serious matter, but not to an extreme degree. She was half serious, half playful.
The smile in Jin Shi Yue’s eyes deepened, making his chest tremble slightly. Lian Li, in his arms, felt that unrestrained laughter transmit to her body.
“You’re still laughing. We’re about to be separated.” Lian Li stopped crying and blinked her moist eyelashes.
Jin Shi Yue gently pinched her cheek and said, “I miss you, so I’ll come see you.”
Lian Li’s bright eyes gazed at him without blinking. “Then what should I do when I miss you?”
Jin Shi Yue raised an eyebrow. “Wait for me to come see you.”
“Okay.” Lian Li reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Then hurry up, don’t make me wait too long.”
Otherwise, I’m afraid I won’t be able to resist running to find you.
Jin Shi Yue lowered his head, his cheek pressed against her damp one, soft and cool. They kissed for several minutes, without any trace of desire.
Lian Li remembered that the first time he kissed her, it was also without any desire.
His lips carefully covered hers, gently biting and sucking, gradually taking her.
The Eldest Young Master, drunk and acting foolishly, was surprisingly pure.
Jin Shi Yue kissed her eyelids and asked, “Not crying anymore?”
“Not crying.” Lian Li said, “If I cry, you don’t comfort me, you just laugh at me.”
Jin Shi Yue looked at her with amusement and coaxed, “Cry again, and I promise to comfort you.”
“No.” Lian Li refused. “I’m not an actress, I can’t just cry when I say I will.”
Jin Shi Yue’s lips curved into a pleased arc. He bit her ear and drawled, “Li Li ah.”
“Don’t bite, don’t bite.” Lian Li felt like she had been tickled, laughing non-stop. She pushed him away, “It tickles…”
Jin Shi Yue released her ear, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her towards his waist, insisting she sleep holding him.
Lian Li had no choice but to hold him tightly, shrinking into his embrace, her cheek pressed against his warm chest.
Lian Li had seen Jin Shi Yue and the Director of Municipal Station together. The Director was separated from him by a chasm of power and status, his aura completely diminished.
She asked what came to mind. “Why did Zhong Yang and the others say before that the Director of the Municipal Station was your father-in-law?”
“Hmm?” Jin Shi Yue inhaled the faint fragrance of her hair, letting out a sleepy, single syllable.
Lian Li said, “Were you planning to marry Xu Jingxi before?”
“There’s no such thing.” Jin Shi Yue didn’t open his eyes, his palm cupping the back of her neck, idly kneading it.
“Oh.”
Lian Li believed him. “Then let’s sleep.”
Jin Shi Yue smiled silently.
His girlfriend was both easily trusting and difficult to trust.
It was quite interesting.
The next morning, Lian Li woke up refreshed, clearly sensing an unusual sensation. The man’s reaction was extremely present.
She had experienced it many times before, and it was a normal phenomenon, so she didn’t pay much attention.
This time, Lian Li looked up at Jin Shi Yue and found that he was already awake, his deep black eyes staring at her.
Lian Li had a sudden realization, glanced down at his lower body, and quickly shifted her gaze back to his eyes.
“Do you need help?”
