Chapter 106: The Vanishing Black Umbrella
Sang Chu led the little fish monsters downstairs. When they reached the first floor, she found they had all frozen.
“What’s going on?”
Suddenly, a torrent of rain roared towards her. Sang Chu quickly took out the umbrella Qin Si Mian had given her to defend herself.
Was this umbrella a magic tool?
The rainwater was blocked outside. The little fish monsters suddenly stopped moving, as if they were afraid of something.
To prevent them from going upstairs, Sang Chu cleared out a space link and put them all inside. Then, holding the umbrella to block the continuous rain falling from above, she walked towards the basement.
The basement was full of water, and Sang Chu couldn’t find a place to step.
She stood on the stairs, looking at a giant water bed in the water, very confused. “Why is there such a big bed in this basement?”
“It’s for sleeping, of course.”
A playful voice rang out, followed by the appearance of a man wearing a red robe.
Seeing his face, Sang Chu was completely stunned. He looked exactly like Qin Si Mian!
Could he be the Thunder Ghost Shark?
The man seemed to know her thoughts and smiled sinisterly. “I’m not the kind of disreputable person you have in mind. Here, the thing you’re looking for is over there.”
Following the direction of his finger, she saw two shriveled mermaids, one male and one female. The male one was bizarre and disgusting, while the female one was stunningly beautiful, the kind that would instantly capture one’s heart.
“Then, may I ask who you are, Senior?”
“Hmph, Qin Si Mian gave you a magic tool to resist the rain-eating, and he didn’t tell you who I am?”
Sang Chu shook her head. The man glanced at Sang Chu and said, “You’re different from the last few people who came. Alright, you’ve found what you were looking for. Hurry up and summon him out and leave. You can’t help those things upstairs.”
“What does Senior know?”
Suddenly, the man stood in front of Sang Chu, his eyes fixed on her. Sang Chu suddenly felt dazed.
After the man snapped his fingers, she snapped back to reality. Sang Chu shivered all over, realizing she had just been controlled by this man!
“Don’t worry, I don’t kill people. Of course, if you treat me as your reward like the last few fools, that’s another matter.”
As he spoke, he suddenly turned to look at Sang Chu, a strange smile on his lips. “Will you?”
Sang Chu: “No, Senior’s strength is far greater than mine. It’s already merciful of you not to kill me. Sang Chu knows her place.”
The man looked at her and smiled. In an instant, he grabbed her by the scruff of her neck, like a little cub, carried her over the sea, and threw her onto the water bed.
Sang Chu was still shaken, but the man lay lazily on the bed, his deep V neckline open, revealing his fair skin and delicate collarbone.
“You just used the Leaf Vein Floating Life Art to save a little cub?”
Hearing this, Sang Chu’s heart skipped a beat. She was afraid he would make her use it again. “That’s right. However, the Leaf Vein Floating Life Art requires too much power. I only managed to save him by relying on the life force of all the creatures on the mountain.”
“Without the help of those creatures, you would have died.”
Sang Chu: “Yes, but I didn’t think that much at the time. My brain just made that decision on impulse.”
“Young people always have a hot-blooded impulse. Do you know he was already dead?”
Sang Chu nodded. “I know. This world might just be an illusion created by the undead, but they are still seeking to survive.”
“When I first came here, there were corpses everywhere. Those two ugly things were fighting each other, vying for dominance. Later, a very strange child appeared. He was clearly dead, but he had forgotten he was dead. He kept breaking into this place again and again, and again and again he was thrown out, dying without a whole corpse.
This repeated over and over. I got tired of it after a few times, so I gave him a dream. In the dream, his grandmother personally threw him out. From then on, the child never came in again. But you brought him in again.”
This… wasn’t this what the child had told her?
But it was another version?
Sang Chu: “Did Senior help them get on the rankings?”
“You could say that. Although Qin Si Mian is arrogant and sharp-tongued, and I dislike him immensely, he is very powerful. With his help, these things can leave quickly. After they leave, no one will bother me. But I didn’t expect him to not come himself, and instead, many messy people have arrived. You’re not the first to come to this place, but you’re the first not to immediately start shouting and fighting.”
Sang Chu: “Senior wants to find a quiet place to sleep?”
The man suddenly looked up at her with a half-smile. “What do you want to say?”
“Junior happens to know a good place to offer, but I don’t know if Senior would like it.”
“Put away your little schemes. I don’t like your Jade Bracelet Space. You’ve collected all those missing people. Hurry up and leave, don’t be an eyesore here.”
Hearing this, Sang Chu was stunned for a moment, then remembered the little fish monsters she had collected. “Does Senior mean those little fish monsters are the missing people?”
“Yes. After they leave this bell tower, they will turn into normal corpses. When you go out that door, that’s where you can get off the vehicle. Hurry up and go, don’t disturb my sleep.”
Sang Chu looked at the large door he was pointing at but didn’t walk out. “Senior, what about those people upstairs?”
“They have already become obsessions.”
“What do you mean?”
The man sneered and patted the water bed. “This looks like a water bed, but it’s actually an ancient seal. Look closely at what’s inside.”
Sang Chu squatted down and looked carefully. There seemed to be many fish the size of fingernails inside the water bed.
Qin Si Feng: “These are all larvae of the Thunder Ghost Shark. This bell tower happens to be built on the Thunder Ghost Shark’s spiritual breeding ground. That ugly thing ate so many men just to gain power and enter here. As long as she eats her other self and completes her metamorphosis, she can soar into a dragon, undergo the lightning tribulation, take human form, and shed her demonic form.”
“Then, what about those Demon-Quelling Banners?”
Qin Si Feng: “That person was me. I thought that as long as I hung up all the Demon-Quelling Banners, those obsessions would disappear, and no one would bother me while I slept. I didn’t expect these people to be so stupid that they couldn’t even do this small thing. I told them to leave quickly, and I would complete the seal alone. As a result, one by one, they became more obsessed because of this small matter.”
He spoke carelessly, as if he didn’t care at all, but Sang Chu could hear the concern in his words. He probably wanted them to leave too, but those aunts had trapped themselves here.
They must have thought she had caused the Master’s death, which is why they kept wanting to do something for him. But they didn’t expect things to turn out this way.
