Chapter 25: Eternal Pain Won’t Fly!
The Delibird Trainer was a spirited youth with dyed yellow hair.
After Lu Li took the stage, Jin Huang directly mocked, “Qingfeng City First Place, I hear you’re quite impressive!”
Lu Li: “If I may ask boldly, are you cosplaying as a delinquent?”
Feeling his dignity as First High School Boss being challenged, Jin Huang angrily said, “You punk, you dare pretend not to know me? Delibird, get him! Bite his Tropius to death!”
Lu Li: “…”
Lu Li swore to the heavens that he truly didn’t know this thug in front of him.
Jin Huang shouted, “Delibird, long howl!”
“Tropius, Growth, then fly.” Lu Li commanded briefly.
“You boost attack, I boost too, but my Tropius can fly—can your Delibird?” Lu Li sneered inwardly.
Seeing Tropius fly into the sky, Jin Huang sneered, “My Delibird isn’t trash like Eevee.”
“Delibird, use Spark to knock it down!”
Lu Li also issued a command: “Tropius, dodge, then Magical Leaf.”
Spark wasn’t a skill that automatically pursued enemies, but Magical Leaf was.
Tropius dodged Spark in the air while releasing Magical Leaf.
Jin Huang hurriedly shouted, “Delibird, dodge quickly too!”
Hearing the command, Delibird hurriedly dodged Tropius’s Magical Leaf, but the Magical Leaf strangely turned around and rushed toward Delibird again.
Jin Huang asked in surprise, “What skill is that? It even turns!”
Lu Li didn’t explain Jin Huang’s confusion. From Jin Huang’s reaction, this unfortunate kid was clearly the ignorant type who didn’t even recognize Magical Leaf.
Lu Li continued commanding, “Tropius, keep using Magical Leaf.”
Magical Leaf was a Grass Attribute special attack. Though Grass Attribute attacks couldn’t deal super effective damage to Delibird, quantity could bring qualitative change.
Lu Li didn’t believe Delibird could withstand multiple Magical Leaves.
Being kited, Jin Huang roared in frustration, “Bastard! If you’ve got the guts, make your Tropius come down!”
“Time hasn’t passed three minutes yet.” Lu Li said coldly.
Jin Huang: “…”
Three minutes later.
Delibird, worn down to death by Magical Leaf, lost the match.
Jin Huang, who had been smug before, now looked like a defeated rooster.
“Don’t get cocky. Once my Delibird evolves, I’ll come back for revenge.” Jin Huang threw down a harsh remark, then sullenly recalled Delibird and left the arena.
Jin Huang, who had returned to the gymnasium at some point, walked up to Lu Li and exclaimed in amazement, “That was too easy, huh? But Tropius actually learned Magical Leaf—how deep is your Tropius’s moveset?”
So far, Lu Li’s Tropius had revealed Headbutt, Sweet Scent, Growth, Magical Leaf, and Razor Leaf—five moves. Even among Normal Level Pokémon, such a deep moveset was rare.
Jin Huang didn’t know Tropius was already Normal Level.
But the formal trainers saw Tropius’s true strength at a glance.
Yu Zhonggang frowned and muttered, “Nurturing Tropius to Normal Level in a week— are Junior Breeders really this outrageous?”
The principal nearby twitched his mouth slightly. Forget Junior Breeders—even Intermediate Breeders couldn’t be this outrageous.
“Looks like this little genius has secrets.” The principal thought, narrowing his eyes.
But he didn’t plan to probe Lu Li’s secrets. After all, the Pokémon World was so wondrous; occasional extraordinary events were normal.
Jin Cuilian beside Jin Huang also sighed, “Lu Li, I didn’t expect Teacher to underestimate your talent. You’re probably just one certificate away from Junior Breeder now, right?”
Lu Li awkwardly touched his nose, then nodded shyly.
If not for fear of shocking the world, Lu Li felt he could even take the Advanced Breeder exam.
Grandmaster Level Cultivation Hundred Arts was somewhat incompatible with this world, but there were still some similarities. Whether as Breeder, Planter, or Item Maker, Lu Li felt he only lacked knowledge accumulation.
“When the finals come, you two perform well—especially you, Lu Li. Make it exciting, show your style.” Jin Cuilian instructed earnestly.
Reminded again, Lu Li nodded, then asked curiously, “Teacher, is some big shot from the Education Bureau visiting our school?”
Jin Cuilian shook her head meaningfully.
“Not from the Education Bureau. I can only say that Lord’s status is higher than the Education Bureau Director.” Jin Cuilian said.
“Alright, this is the school’s surprise for you. I can’t reveal it now—you’ll know when the surprise comes.” Jin Cuilian waved her hand, then turned and left.
Nearby, after Jin Cuilian approached, Dou Guomin sighed in a leisurely tone, “What great luck!”
Jin Cuilian modestly said, “This is thanks to the help of all my colleagues.”
“No! Even with our assistance, if your son weren’t capable, it wouldn’t have happened.” Dou Guomin shook his head.
Jin Cuilian’s son had caught the eye of Qingfeng City’s Gym Leader. Before, they would only have been amazed, but now, they felt only deep envy.
After all, Gym Leader Yu had advanced to Heavenly King Level Trainer, and his Heavenly King Pokémon was Aggron. If Jin Huang, with his Corphish, apprenticed under Gym Leader Yu, his future achievements would at least be Gym Level.
For ordinary people, Trainer and ordinary person was the dividing line.
For Trainers, Gym Trainer and ordinary Trainer was the dividing line.
Only becoming a Gym Trainer truly counted as an accomplished Trainer. Gym Trainers were the Asian Alliance’s backbone.
“I thought my life was set like this, but I gave birth to a capable son. Though I often say he’s not as good as Lu Li, he’s actually quite excellent!” Jin Cuilian looked fondly at Jin Huang chatting and laughing with Lu Li in the distance.
Dou Guomin said, “Suppression-style education is no good.”
Jin Cuilian retorted, “Using Lu Li to pressure Jin Huang hardly counts as suppression-style education.”
Was Lu Li an ordinary person?
A 16-year-old Junior Breeder—forget Jin Huang, even direct descendants of Noble Families couldn’t match Lu Li.
If Jin Huang had even a tenth of Lu Li’s ability, she as a mother would laugh in her dreams.
In fact, it was true. Though Jin Huang couldn’t match Lu Li, he had reached a level that made her laugh in her dreams.
As time passed, the final decisive moment was approaching.
Everything went as Lu Li predicted: the semifinal contenders were him, Jin Huang, and that Ekans Trainer.
Jin Huang looked at the announced semifinal list and said, “You really guessed it. That Ekans Trainer is indeed very strong.”
“But unfortunately, you seem to face him first.” Jin Huang said gloatingly.
“No matter. My Tropius just needs some pressure.” Lu Li smiled casually.
Though Tropius was double weak to Ekans, Ekans couldn’t fly!
