Chapter 159: Kill Huaye, The Invincible Karl
Aether Editing, Spatial Distortion.
The black hole core, not fully formed, could not maintain itself and shattered like a bubble in an instant.
“Ruo Ning, help me!” Huaye said urgently.
“Why are you panicking?” Ruo Ning gave Huaye a disdainful glance: “You’re no longer the previous King of the Heavenly Palace. Your Void Engine is much stronger than that of ordinary Third Generation Gods, with computing power and Divine Body completely crushing them. Go all out and rush in for close combat!”
“An inch longer is an inch stronger, an inch shorter is an inch more dangerous. His attack range is so long; the farther the distance, the greater his advantage. You’re holding a sword but not closing the distance while thinking of pulling away—what were you thinking!” Ruo Ning said, exasperated.
Huaye instantly came to his senses. Long-term indulgence had made him instinctively avoid danger, but now was not the time to evade.
Void Engine, also known as the Black Hole Engine, was Karl’s achievement after researching the Void for over ten thousand years. When fully activated, it could make a Third Generation Divine Body comparable to a Fourth Generation Divine Body.
The algorithmic amplification even allowed a single person to match the computing power of Morgana and Demon One.
Huaye activated the Void Engine, greatly enhancing his Divine Body. He gritted his teeth, took two shots from Meng Huaifeng, and closed the distance.
Too close a distance indeed made it hard to unleash the ever-changing abilities of the Phantom Spear.
But Yunqi Spear Technique was inherently a close-combat spear art, allowing Meng Huaifeng to exert even stronger combat power in close quarters.
It was just that close combat required guarding against the enemy’s attacks, while at long range, he could attack recklessly for one-sided output, which felt more satisfying.
Facing Huaye’s attacks, if there was a chance to inflict greater harm on Huaye, Meng Huaifeng would directly trade injuries.
If there was no chance, Meng Huaifeng would also block and dodge to reduce consumption.
Meng Huaifeng’s Data Body had no vital points, no Physical Body, only an energy bar.
As long as the entire Data Body wasn’t instantly annihilated, he could use Aether Editing to supplement data and recover quickly, until Meng Huaifeng’s Imaginary Energy was depleted.
Imaginary Energy served as both the energy bar and the health bar.
Meng Huaifeng used Aether Editing to analyze the Void Power on Huaye’s sword. This power felt very similar to Void Destiny’s power to Meng Huaifeng, yet it fell a bit short.
Void Power encompassed Void Destiny’s power, which Meng Huaifeng could not analyze. If he truly analyzed it, he would actually have stepped onto the path of Void Destiny.
Forcibly editing Void Power consumed enormously, as did other Destiny powers, making it impractical.
On the other hand, this world’s Void Power had decent Destructive Power, was easy to analyze, and should be very effective against Divine Bodies.
Huaye attempted to use computing power to invade Meng Huaifeng’s mind, suppressing his power and speed, but was firmly blocked by the Firewall.
Meng Huaifeng was not to be outdone, using Aether Editing to remove Huaye’s Void Enhancement. Huaye, whose strength dropped instantly, was caught off guard and pierced through the abdomen by Meng Huaifeng’s spear.
Unfortunately, Huaye’s Void Enhancement quickly recovered, allowing him to dodge subsequent attacks and avoiding instant death.
Aether Editing was affected by both reality repair and the opponent’s energy resistance, only influencing Huaye for an instant but consuming greatly.
As expected, Aether Editing had the highest cost-performance when used to enhance oneself.
But a strike at a critical moment was enough to influence the battle situation.
……
Five Void Apostles charged toward the last Dan Heng.
Dan Heng pointed the Ji Yun Spear, bursting one Void Apostle’s head in just a few moves.
The head-burst Void Apostle surprisingly did not die and rapidly repaired its Divine Body under the cover of the other four Void Apostles.
Immortal Power, Pioneer Power—though both could improve strength, neither had special killing effects.
Hunt!
Hunt Power swirled around Dan Heng’s Ji Yun Spear, striking straight at the Origin!
The hit Void Apostle’s Super Gene was instantly gravely wounded, then collapsed!
Far more efficient than God-Slaying Power by countless times!
Death God Karl watched as most of the Void Apostles were dead or injured in a short moment and sighed.
He had still underestimated their power.
If not for this person, or if his strength weren’t this great, plus his own trump cards, there might still be hope to contend.
Now……
Karl was already prepared for defeat, but his heart stirred, and he activated his trump card.
The ground began to shake violently, countless insect eggs underground hatched, and swarms of insectoids modified by Karl crawled out from them.
Void Insectoids were created by Karl using Titan beast cells, Styx corrosive fungi, and Void particles to modify cosmic insectoids.
“Boom~”
Death Song Star cracked open as if exploding, with dirt and stones flying everywhere, inflicting heavy casualties on the Taotie Army.
A satellite-sized, terrifying and ferocious Void Insectoid, the Star Eater, flew out from the rift and appeared before everyone.
Around it were countless Void Insectoids of various sizes.
The Star Eater’s massive maw pierced into the planet below, devouring various substances at a visible speed, and its body rapidly grew!
Star Eater, capable of devouring stars, could devour planets at will!
The other Void Insectoids also began devouring substances on the planet, then… split!
“Propagation Swarm!” March 7th shouted in disbelief, eyes wide.
“No Propagation Destiny power sensed, so probably not.” Welt said gravely.
“Does the unknown universe also have creations like mine? Called Propagation?” Karl asked with interest.
“As expected of this universe’s greatest Evil God. You’re several times more dangerous than we knew.” Welt narrowed his eyes at Karl, his glasses flashing with a reflection.
“I had no intention of deploying them, but you were aggressive. This little god, for self-preservation, had to awaken them.” Karl said innocently.
“Fart god Karl, as expected you’re full of hot air. Do you think we’d believe that nonsense?” Meng Huaifeng said solemnly.
This guy indeed had unknown trump cards.
No helping it—who told him not to finish the anime or learn about the related novels and comics behind it.
“It doesn’t matter. Anyway, because of you, they had to emerge early. This universe was supposed to have much more time to prepare.” Karl said.
Dan Heng erupted rapidly, taking out the remaining two Void Apostles with a few shots, and said: “Though not Propagation, if given time to grow, their threat is no less than a Propagation Swarm, enough to devour a Galaxy. They must be eliminated quickly.”
“Dragon Transformation Technique!”
Dan Heng transformed, becoming a hundreds-of-thousands-of-meters-long Azure Dragon. Several water dragons from Cloud Chant Technique swirled around him, pouncing toward the Star Eater.
The Star Eater accelerated its planet devouring, half the Void Insectoids flapping toward Dan Heng, only to be shredded by the water dragons.
But some still climbed onto Dan Heng’s dragon body, their mouthparts stabbing down heavily.
“Clang!”
A crisp sound rang out, the Void Insectoid’s mouthpart broke, but Void Power left a dotted mark on Dan Heng’s scales.
A vast Sea appeared out of thin air, slamming onto Dan Heng’s body and smashing the Void Insectoids on him.
It then turned into dozens of towering water spouts, sweeping toward the Void Insectoids.
Dan Heng’s dragon claw pressed the Star Eater into the planet’s core, but the scorching magma did no harm to it.
One claw pinned the Star Eater, the other claw raking fiercely across its back.
“Gah~ Zzz~ Squeak~”
Harsh metal friction sounded, accompanied by flying sparks, several deep claw marks appearing on the Star Eater’s carapace.
The Star Eater emitted a shrill blast, its sharp limbs frantically clawing at Dan Heng.
If the Star Eater had successfully devoured a star, it might grow to contend with Dan Heng for a while.
But the Star Eater, not even finished devouring one planet, had little power to resist in Dan Heng’s grasp.
It could only rely on its massive size and vitality to hold out longer.
……
Welt tried various methods to attack Karl, including means against Memory Weavers, but most had no effect.
Only some energy attacks targeting Space could make Karl’s body slightly illusory, but it quickly returned to normal.
Without deliberate control, breaking Space would randomize attacks, dispersing into countless other Dimensional Spaces.
The universe contained countless various Dimensional Spaces, some spanning the entire universe, others limited to a single Planet.
For example, Realm Splitting on Yarilo VI and the Illusion on Penacony were Dimensional Spaces outside the main space.
Thus, the Death God Karl before them was just a projection, his true body hidden in another Dimensional Space—most likely the Void Dimension.
Knowing his true body was in the Void Dimension wasn’t enough to deal with him; the Void Dimension’s coordinates still needed locating.
However, Welt had no research or understanding of the Void Dimension’s Coordinates.
Opening Dimensional Spaces wasn’t hard; Welt could do it.
But without Coordinates, opening a specific Dimensional Space was difficult.
Dimensional Spaces were innumerable, most barren and inaccessible.
Only a tiny few hosted special lifeforms, and only special lifeforms could enter and exit those Dimensional Spaces.
Either pure luck, or first research the Void Dimension’s Coordinates.
Welt launched another attack breaking Space, but Karl showed no reaction.
Clearly, this attack’s dispersed Dimensional Spaces did not include the Void Dimension.
Watching Welt only using Space power to attack him, and the battlefields everywhere falling comprehensively behind, Karl sighed.
“You’re very strong, especially you, Mister Welt. Your immense power, the Great Clock cannot parse, the Void cannot define. I concede.”
“But you should have realized you can’t kill me. You can harm me now because I’m here.”
“The Void is vast; physical bodies cannot enter. Only Void Creatures and Spirit Bodies can.”
“If I leave here, how will you find me in the Void?”
“Let’s call it quits. I promise to restrain my subordinates from invading Blue Star anymore, how about that?” Karl said.
Welt shook his head: “This isn’t just about Blue Star, Karl. You’re too dangerous, to the entire Universe.”
……
Huaye’s combat experience was lacking, but under the Void Engine’s immense computing power, he calculated optimal responses and barely held off Meng Huaifeng with his enhanced Third Generation Divine Body.
But……
The Void Insectoids were being hammered down by that dragon.
Most of the Taotie Army was dealt with, and Death God Karl’s two subordinates were covered in wounds, their Divine Bodies unable to recover.
Morgana had been tangling with her opponent.
Death God Karl also seemed unable to handle that glasses guy.
Victory looked utterly hopeless.
Anyway, he had already become a Third Generation God and reaped the benefits.
As long as he didn’t linger under Kaisa’s watch, where in the Universe couldn’t he lord it up?
Why sell his life for Karl?
Thinking of this, Huaye immediately felt the urge to retreat.
Meng Huaifeng sensed Huaye’s attacks gradually weakening and his shifty eyes, instantly knowing his intent.
Want to run?
Impossible!
“Dream Entering Divine Mechanism!”
A stream of light entered Huaye’s body, trapping him in an Illusion, his movements halting.
“Aether Editing, Void Power!”
The crimson God-Slaying Power on Meng Huaifeng’s Phantom Spear was instantly rewritten into the same Void Power as Huaye’s.
The spear thrust toward Huaye’s forehead.
Awakened by the Void Engine, Huaye snapped alert in an instant, his sword slashing at the Phantom Spear while tilting his head to dodge.
“Soul-Capturing Camera!”
Before Huaye could make that eye-searing cute pose, the Phantom Spear had already pierced his skull.
Void Power erupted, swallowing Huaye’s entire head!
The spear stabbed repeatedly—chest, abdomen—Void Power utterly destroying his Divine Body.
A Photograph drifted down. Meng Huaifeng didn’t check the Rating and pierced it with a backhand spear thrust.
Huaye’s remnant soul emitted an inaudible sharp whine, turning into a wisp of green smoke and vanishing.
The Photograph merely pierced on the spear turned into light points and gradually dissipated.
King of the Heavenly Palace Huaye, dead!
Huaye’s death threw the already struggling Ruo Ning into panic, quickly following in Huaye’s footsteps under Meng Huaifeng and Jing Yuan’s combined assault.
Star had already cut down generals and seized flags, standing imposingly on the Taotie King with her Baseball Bat, glaring at the remaining Taotie Army.
Karl’s two subordinates, Sno and Nusa, lay defeated at her feet, their Super Genes utterly destroyed by Destruction Power, their Divine Bodies gradually turning to ashes under Destruction Power’s erosion.
The Star Eater had been torn apart by Dan Heng, who was now handling the scattered Void Insectoids.
Given their splitting ability, letting even one escape could lead to a Galaxy-devouring disaster soon.
Noticing the others’ gazes on him, Morgana’s hair stood on end.
“Damn it, I shouldn’t have come! Is this your foolproof heaven-and-earth net you prepared, you idiot?” Morgana said in utmost regret.
“Sorry, Liang Bing. Their strength exceeded my expectations. I thought only one was comparable to your sister Kaisa.” Karl said to Morgana with slight guilt.
Himeko and Kaisa’s battle was shielded by Kaisa’s Sacred Knowledge Treasury, so Karl hadn’t observed it.
As for Dan Heng, he rarely left the Train or fought.
Unlike the tech gods’ Destiny system, Karl couldn’t judge Dan Heng’s Strength at all, relying only on inference and guesswork.
“Sorry now is useless! Hurry and get me out of here.” Morgana said urgently.
Space was disrupted; without Wings of the Demon, she couldn’t reposition Space in the short term.
Only Karl’s Great Clock could reposition Space quickly.
“Go. Don’t show your face again before they leave. The Universe has more paths than just the Void. Perhaps you can return to your sister’s side.”
Karl, who hadn’t deleted his feelings for Liang Bing, ultimately couldn’t bear to see Morgana die before him and had long prepared.
The skull head reappeared, swallowing Morgana in one gulp and teleporting her to an unknown location.
“You win, but so what? I stand in an invincible position.” Karl said calmly to the Train Crew.
