Chapter 112: Zekrom And Reshiram
In the southern Unova Region, Feiyun City.
Inside a grand and luxurious castle, a man approximately twenty-five years old, clad in fine robes, sat upon the throne.
His face was handsome, with deep-set features. He possessed thick eyebrows like swords and sharp eyes, giving him an arrogant and dominant appearance.
If Elif were present, he would have recognized at a glance that the man was Lando, the First Prince of the Aindook Kingdom.
Below the throne, two rows of ministers stood at attention. A middle-aged man in courtly robes was reporting on the recent recruitment situation to him.
“Your Highness, in the past month, we have recruited a total of 100,000 soldiers from various regions. Combined with our existing army and Monster Legion, our current military strength is 200,000!”
“Mmm,” Lando nodded slightly. He pondered for a moment and asked, “Have you not yet found my good brother?”
The minister hesitated, then shook his head, “According to our scouts, the Third Prince does not seem to have gone to Feiyun Territory…”
Upon hearing this, Lando closed his eyes.
He did not want any other unstable factors in this war.
He had originally planned to find his third brother and place him under house arrest. After the war, once he had unified the kingdom, he would bestow a title upon his third brother and let him live out his life peacefully there…
A moment later, Lando reopened his eyes and said to everyone, “You may all withdraw!”
“Yes!”
The ministers seemed somewhat fearful of this king. They bowed and then withdrew from the royal palace.
Lando remained alone on the throne, lost in thought with his eyes closed.
And at this very moment, that voice resurfaced in his heart.
“Do you have the resolve to seek the ideal?”
It was that voice again.
Lando’s eyes snapped open. He rose and returned to his chambers, where a stone, entirely black, was emitting a faint glow.
“What exactly are you?” Lando asked.
“I am the Ideal Dragon, Zekrom,” the voice replied.
“Zekrom?” Lando’s brow furrowed. He didn’t recall ever hearing that name before.
He had been able to hear this strange voice for a long time, and it kept asking him in his mind what his ideal was.
When he left the Royal City, Lando had brought the stone with him.
After that, the stone had been silent for a long time, and he hadn’t expected it to speak again today.
“Tell me, what is your ideal?” the voice resounded again.
The same question.
Lando’s lips curled upwards. If he hadn’t been firm before, he could now answer with absolute certainty:
“To unify the entire kingdom, seize that throne, forge a mighty nation with the power of monsters, and then conquer this continent! That is my ideal!”
It was a shame his foolish second brother actually pitied monsters.
When monsters harmed and killed people, were they ever pitied?
Monsters possessed immense power within them, a power that rightfully belonged to him!
Humans could only achieve greater development by properly utilizing the power of monsters!
Upon hearing this answer, the voice fell silent for a moment.
After a long while, a blinding radiance erupted from the black stone.
Accompanied by a magnetic voice, a dark silhouette slowly emerged from within.
“Your ideal shall be realized by me!”
*
In the northern Unova Region, within a majestic and magnificent castle.
A young man with long white hair, pale skin, handsome features, and a hint of pity in his eyes gazed at a white stone.
“To cease the exploitation of monsters, to liberate all enslaved monsters, to release them into the wild, and to establish a nation belonging solely to us humans. This is my truth.”
The Second Prince, Lance, softly responded to the white stone’s question.
He had grown up in the Royal City. Unlike others, he had encountered many kind and gentle monsters in his youth, and had even been saved by a monster during a journey in the wilderness.
This experience made Lance unable to stand by and watch as pitiable monsters were ruthlessly enslaved by humans.
How pitiable they were!
Even without monsters, humans could establish a prosperous nation through their own strength.
Therefore, he had to stop his brother. Only by ascending to that position could he change everything!
The Second Prince Lance’s eyes were filled with determination.
His belief was conveyed into the white stone.
The next second, a gentle voice echoed in his heart.
“Is this your truth? I sense it. If so, your truth shall be realized by me!”
Within the white light, a sacred and gentle figure slowly appeared.
*
It was another clear and sunny morning. From early on, the residents of the territory began to bustle.
Children and Pokémon Partners played hand-in-hand within the territory.
Knights, with their Cranidos and Swablu, began their day’s training in the open field.
Pansear, Darumaka, and other Fire Type Pokémon headed to the brick kiln to help light and fire bricks.
Lumberjacks went into the forest to chop trees.
Workers and Machop headed to town to continue building new homes for everyone.
Meanwhile, some women skilled in weaving took the wool from the Gyarados pasture and wove it into carpets and clothing.
In the fields, farmers worked diligently among the lush green crops.
Sandshrew also specifically emerged from underground to freeload food.
The farmers looked worried.
As the scale of the fields gradually expanded, they found themselves becoming overwhelmed with just their current numbers.
Just then, someone suddenly spotted a figure in the sky.
“Look! What is that?” a farmer exclaimed, pointing upwards.
The others focused their gaze and quickly recognized the figure.
“That’s Prince Lei Wen’s monster!”
The slender monster flew above the fields. It twisted its light body, and in moments, dark clouds gathered in the previously clear sky.
Immediately after, a gentle drizzle began to fall, nourishing the fields below.
Witnessing this scene firsthand, the farmers’ faces involuntarily showed expressions of immense shock.
It was raining!
What was happening?
Was it the power of that monster?
So, so powerful!
Such casual weather manipulation was something only gods who controlled the weather could do!
This miraculous sight caused some farmers to involuntarily prostrate themselves in worship. If they hadn’t known in advance that the monster belonged to Prince Lei Wen, they might have already sent offerings to the lake where it resided.
Mid-air, Dragonair looked contentedly at its creation.
It was very happy because it could finally be of help!
After completing this task, Dragonair twisted its body and flew towards the territory. It soon arrived at a wooden house and slipped in through the window.
Lei Wen was sitting at his desk reviewing Elif’s report. Seeing Dragonair enter, he smiled and asked,
“All done?”
Dragonair nodded gently, “Wooo~”
“Good work,” Lei Wen gently stroked Dragonair’s head.
Seeing this, a nearby Larvesta immediately nudged forward, also wanting to be petted.
Lei Wen naturally did not refuse. He then looked at the Servine beside them and asked with his eyes if it wanted to be petted.
The Servine immediately turned its head away proudly.
But as Lei Wen looked away, it couldn’t help but feel a pang of disappointment.
Then, the Servine suddenly saw Lei Wen get up and walk over, handing it a Pomelo Fruit and patting its head as he did so.
The Servine blinked slightly, then turned its head away coquettishly.
Hmph, it didn’t need it!
Despite what it said, the Servine happily ate the Pomelo Fruit.
“Go play!” Lei Wen shooed away the jealous Dragonair, who was currently vying with Larvesta, and then sat alone at his desk, contemplating how to proceed.
To build a powerful Aggron army would require vast amounts of metal resources.
There were only two ways to obtain metal resources.
One was artificial mining, and the other was to engage in trade with other cities.
However, this was not realistic at the moment, as the areas surrounding the territory were comprised of small villages and towns of ordinary size.
Therefore, only the method of artificial mining remained.
But with manual labor alone, the speed of mining was still too slow.
Lei Wen couldn’t help but look at his technology panel. There was still some distance to go before they advanced from the Agricultural Era to the Industrial Era.
The condition for entering the Industrial Era was the unlock of steam engine technology.
“Unfortunately, there’s still too little satisfaction…”
Lei Wen couldn’t help but think, if only they had a Melmetal.
This Pokémon could produce large quantities of iron, and could directly serve as caretakers for Cranidos.
