Chapter 16: Exquisite Performance
“Hello, Lingyan, it’s Mother. Your uncle wants you to meet with us tomorrow.”
Mother’s familiar voice came from the receiver, but she said it was her uncle who called her, not that she missed her?

Her door had no security system. The knocking grew more urgent, as if impatient. Yin Lingyan thought about it and still held a stick in her hand. If it was a bad person, she would beat them away.
She tiptoed to the door, raised the wooden stick slightly with her right hand, and began to turn the doorknob with her left. The moment she opened the door, she felt as if her heart would stop.
But when she saw who it was, her right hand froze in mid-air, staring blankly at the person.
Han Wuyu looked at her posture strangely, finding it somewhat amusing, but he maintained a very serious expression.
“You… how did you get here?”
“I didn’t bring an umbrella, so I’m staying the night.” Han Wuyu looked angrily at his wet casual wear and his soaked, messy hair. Far from looking disheveled, he had a somewhat devilish charm.

“Last time I was drunk and stayed at your place, and now you’re sober and staying at mine.” Yin Lingyan said righteously.
Han Wuyu was stunned. He found her strange logic both amusing and exasperating.
Forget it, let her be. He had walked all afternoon and was tired. He thought it wouldn’t rain and he’d just come to see her and leave, and he hadn’t driven. But fate was against him, and it started to rain heavily with lightning and thunder. There was nothing he could do but come up. Otherwise, he really didn’t want this matter to be settled so easily.
Yin Lingyan watched Han Wuyu enter the room. She then turned off the living room light, went to her room, turned on her desk lamp, wrapped herself up completely, and curled up in her blanket.
