Chapter 185: How to Make Amends
Hearing Yin Lingyan say that, Han Wuyu was speechless. “Xiao Yan’er, I…”
Han Wuyu was about to say something when Yin Lingyan interrupted him with a gesture. “Don’t call me by my name. Are you tired?”
Yin Lingyan looked up at Han Wuyu, her eyes filled with indifference.
Yin Lingyan turned to leave, but a strong hand pulled her back and kissed her directly.
Yin Lingyan struggled intensely, but she couldn’t overcome the stronger Han Wuyu. Yet, she was unwilling to surrender like this.
She bit down, directly biting his tongue, forcing Han Wuyu to let go of her.
When he let go, instead of the expected anger, he saw a face streaming with tears.
“Han Wuyu, I’m not trash you can discard as you please, nor am I a slave you can summon and dismiss at will.” Yin Lingyan’s words were almost a heart-wrenching roar, shattering Han Wuyu’s heart.
It was his fault, all his fault.
Han Wuyu hugged Yin Lingyan tightly. This time, perhaps because she was tired, Yin Lingyan didn’t struggle. She just cried incessantly.
“Xiao Yan’er, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I truly am. I had my difficulties before.” Han Wuyu’s heart felt like it was shattering with Yin Lingyan’s tears. How could he possibly win her back?
“I had my difficulties.” Han Wuyu clenched his fist, deciding to tell her what he had to. He had never been a passive participant in this game of love; he couldn’t just let her slip away from him like this.
“What difficulties did you have?” Yin Lingyan raised her tear-filled eyes and looked at Han Wuyu, making his heart melt.
“If you forgive me, I’ll tell you slowly.” Han Wuyu looked at Yin Lingyan, afraid she would show a hint of annoyance.
Yin Lingyan blinked, then lowered her head to look at her feet, recalling the past three months. She had kept him hidden in the deepest corner of her heart. When no one mentioned him, she would gradually forget him. But after three months, the moment she saw Han Wuyu again, she realized it was all just her own self-deception.
And the photograph in the newspaper of him embracing a woman was still vivid in her mind. How could she forgive him? His not telling her everything didn’t mean she knew nothing. She knew he had his difficulties, and she had said she was willing to face them with him, but he had still left her.
“I want some quiet. We can talk tomorrow.” Yin Lingyan stopped talking to Han Wuyu, creating distance between them, and walked away. This time, Han Wuyu didn’t stop her from leaving; he just stared blankly at her retreating back.
Night.
Inside Qingran Bar, a man was downing beer, one cup after another, as if there was no end. He drank beer as if it were plain water, and eventually, Han Wuyu collapsed.
Gu Xiaoyou couldn’t bear to watch any longer. He rushed out and drove his sports car to Yin Lingyan’s home. He was filled with uncontrollable anger. Just then, Yin Lingyan came out and saw the somewhat oppressive Gu Xiaoyou.
“Is something wrong?” Yin Lingyan asked him cautiously. After all, Gu Xiaoyou looked fierce and menacing, making it impossible for her to feel at ease.
“I am Gu Xiaoyou. You should recognize me.” Gu Xiaoyou took a deep breath and began to introduce himself.
Yin Lingyan nodded. She knew Gu Xiaoyou was someone close to Han Wuyu, which was why she hadn’t reacted aggressively.
“I recognize you, but if you’re here to be a mediator, there’s no need. I’m going out, so I can’t accompany you.” Confirming it was Gu Xiaoyou, Yin Lingyan gave a perfunctory reply. She truly didn’t know what to do about Han Wuyu.
