Chapter 25: Little Thoughts
The contestants who were eliminated left in disappointment, their eyes even a little red. Yin Lingyan’s not being chosen was beyond Yin Lingyan’s expectations; she truly didn’t expect the five judges to be so… well… fair, one could say.
Holding the reward obtained through her own effort made her happier than anyone else, and Yin Lingyan was no exception. To achieve a satisfactory result on her debut, she couldn’t help but feel a little smug.
As the competition neared its end, Han Wuyu’s eyes scanned the audience seats for Yin Lingyan’s figure, but he found nothing. Han Wuyu frowned slightly. Could this girl have left in her excitement? What should he do?
His long legs moved with the speed of wind as he anxiously searched every corridor, hoping to catch a glimpse of her.
Yin Lingyan, just coming out of the restroom, immediately spotted Han Wuyu. “Hey, Han Wuyu.”
Yin Lingyan waved at him. Hearing the familiar voice, Han Wuyu couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
Han Wuyu walked over, and Yin Lingyan said with a grin, “You weren’t worried I’d leave, were you? You’re even sweating.”
Yin Lingyan was secretly laughing. In reality, she had almost left in her excitement, but she remembered Han Wuyu’s words at the door and turned back.
Han Wuyu was taken aback and instinctively touched his forehead. It was indeed a little damp, but his expression remained cold. Without answering her, he simply said, “Let’s go.”
Yin Lingyan stuck out her tongue behind his back and followed his somewhat hurried steps. Looking at the large clothing store in front of them, a big question mark appeared in Yin Lingyan’s mind.
Han Wuyu walked in and pointed at Yin Lingyan, saying, “Package this for her.”
The clothing store attendant, who looked like a college student, glanced at Han Wuyu with admiration. Hearing his words, she then looked at the plainly dressed Yin Lingyan.
Yin Lingyan had already taken off the camisole dress and changed into her usual clothes. She still felt more comfortable in her own clothes.
Yin Lingyan looked at him in surprise. “What is this for?” Did she need to change clothes to help him?
“Just do as I say.” Hearing Han Wuyu’s cold words, Yin Lingyan felt a surge of anger. He was the one who asked for her help, yet he spoke to her like that.
Her fiery temper flared up. “Find someone else. I can’t do it.”
Yin Lingyan glanced at Han Wuyu. Han Wuyu was stunned. This was the first time someone had refused him. Weren’t all women usually fawning over him, trying their best to please him? Yet she dared to throw a tantrum in front of him. Not only was he not angry, but he felt a little… happy?
He glanced at Yin Lingyan, who was about to walk away. He steeled himself and scooped her up by the waist. “You promised.”
He held her the entire time and didn’t put her down. No matter how much Yin Lingyan struggled, he wouldn’t let go, and he diligently picked out clothes.
Finally finding a nice, non-revealing outfit, Han Wuyu took it down and looked at the blushing Yin Lingyan. “Do you want to change yourself, or should I help you?”
Yin Lingyan was startled. Hearing his lewd remark, she quickly said, “I’ll change myself, I’ll change myself!”
Han Wuyu smiled with satisfaction and watched her hurried retreat, finding it somewhat amusing.
When Yin Lingyan came out, Han Wuyu was sitting on the sofa, reading a magazine with his right leg casually crossed over his left. His focused gaze made Yin Lingyan feel captivated.
Han Wuyu sensed the soft footsteps and received such a warm gaze. He teased, “Are you looking at me?”
