Chapter 26: Little Thoughts
A pleasant voice entered Yin Lingyan’s ears. Her face flushed, and she hastily explained, “I was looking at the magazine in your hand.”
“An explanation is a cover-up,” Han Wuyu said, then looked up and was stunned when he saw Yin Lingyan. She was wearing a purple long skirt, with a belt that perfectly cinched her waist. Her hair was casually tied up, and her fair neck was exposed to Han Wuyu’s eyes. The clothes accentuated her figure exquisitely.
Feeling Han Wuyu’s gaze on her, she nervously fiddled with her fingers and asked, “Doesn’t it look good?”
Han Wuyu snapped back to attention, shook his head, and said, “It looks good. Put these shoes on.”
At his feet lay a pair of beautiful crystal shoes that sparkled brilliantly under the light. Yin Lingyan felt a bit unaccustomed to wearing them, as she had never worn high heels before and always found them troublesome.
Han Wuyu glanced at her, feeling something was still missing. He observed her closely, snapped his fingers, and said, “Let’s go.”
He directly took her hand and led her out. It seemed he had already paid.
Yin Lingyan didn’t know how expensive the clothes were, but she had no chance to change them. She walked a bit unsteadily.
Han Wuyu noticed her awkwardness and asked with concern, “Do you want me to carry you?”
“No, I can walk,” Yin Lingyan gritted her teeth. Wearing high heels, she tried to walk like others. Her learning ability was strong, and soon she was able to walk in high heels with a certain grace.
Han Wuyu took Yin Lingyan to a barber shop. Upon entering, Han Wuyu arranged everything for her, then told her to wait for his word before he hurried off.
An hour later*
Han Wuyu returned from outside. Yin Lingyan had also successfully completed her new hairstyle. Their eyes met, and they saw themselves in each other’s gaze.
A look of astonishment flashed in Han Wuyu’s eyes. She was beautiful without makeup, but even more so with it! As the saying goes, clothes make the man. With this dress and styling, Yin Lingyan looked more noble than royalty.
Yin Lingyan glanced at Han Wuyu’s hairstyle and his white suit, and only one word came to her mind: handsome!
Suppressing the astonishment in his eyes, Han Wuyu took Yin Lingyan’s hand and got into a sports car, which then sped off.
Time passed quickly. The competition ended around five o’clock. After two hours of makeup and styling, there was still an hour of rest time. He had to make his formal appearance at eight o’clock.
Yin Lingyan looked at the venue Han Wuyu had brought her to, covered her mouth, and looked at him in disbelief, “What exactly did you bring me here for?”
Han Wuyu looked at her expression helplessly and said, “To pretend to be my fiancée.”
“Ah?” Yin Lingyan was shocked and immediately wanted to jump, but considering the high heels she was wearing, she gave up and could only stand there in astonishment.
“Pretend, okay?” Han Wuyu said seriously. Yin Lingyan truly regretted it. If she had known this would happen, she wouldn’t have agreed to him. Ah, ah, ah… there’s no medicine for regret!
“Time is running out, and you can’t regret it now. Let’s go.” Han Wuyu looked at Yin Lingyan, who was still in a daze, and had to put his arm around her waist, feigning intimacy as he led her inside.
As soon as they stepped into the engagement banquet, Yin Lingyan felt countless eyes on her. She hadn’t received much attention from others since she was young, so her palms were covered in sweat.
“Don’t be nervous!” Han Wuyu felt her body tremble slightly, showing a rare moment of tenderness.
