Chapter 29: Little Thoughts
Han Wuyu’s hand paused, “No need to take it seriously.”
Yin Lingyan heard this, raised her head, and smiled, “Of course.”
Han Wuyu found Yin Lingyan’s smile a bit dazzling. He seemed a little angry and stood up to walk out, then seemed to remember something and turned back.
Seeing the little food left in Yin Lingyan’s hand, his lips twitched.
“Let’s go,” Han Wuyu pulled Yin Lingyan’s hand and walked out. Yin Lingyan was confused by Han Wuyu’s actions, but it was better to leave this place obediently first.
*
After walking out, a cold wind hit her. Yin Lingyan looked at the ring on her hand and was about to take it off without thinking.
“Huh~” But she found that this ring simply wouldn’t come off no matter what.
Han Wuyu turned his head and saw Yin Lingyan struggling to take off the ring, but it wouldn’t come off.
He also tried to take off the ring on his hand, but it wouldn’t come off either. Han Wuyu sighed to the sky, “Don’t take it off, just wear it.”
Now he finally understood the deep meaning in his mother’s eyes.
“Hmm?” Yin Lingyan hummed in doubt. Didn’t he say it was a fake engagement? Why wasn’t she taking it off?
Han Wuyu didn’t answer her question. He thought schemingly: An engagement is an engagement. Then I won’t be dragged to blind dates by my mother anymore.
“An engagement is not a marriage,” Han Wuyu said again. Yin Lingyan nodded blankly. That’s right, an engagement is not a marriage, so let’s just go through the motions.
Mother Han was chatting and laughing with some shareholders. Seeing Han Wuyu and Yin Lingyan’s backs, the smile on her face faded. She got up and walked to a small backyard at the engagement venue. There, she saw a man in a suit sitting there.
“Yu Baobei brought a girlfriend, and I quite like that child,” Mother Han’s gentle voice rang out, with a hint of joy.
“This child…” Father Han sighed helplessly.
“You definitely knew he wouldn’t get engaged to Yin Chuchu, so you had him bring back a fake girlfriend. You must have thought of someone he wouldn’t dislike to pretend to be her, and then have them get engaged. And that ring, made with special craftsmanship, seems impossible to take off, right?” Father Han revealed all of Mother Han’s plans. Mother Han pouted her lips, looking a bit childish.
“This is good too, and you’re happy, aren’t you?” Mother Han said.
“I am quite happy, but perhaps the intention is one-sided,” Father Han said meaningfully.
Mother Han was stunned, and a scheming smile curved her lips. “There’s plenty of time. Tomorrow, let’s visit her father and mother first. Did you find out?”
“You met her father today.”
“What?”
Mother Han was stunned. Could it be…
“Didn’t you notice she also has the surname Yin?”
“You mean she’s Yin Chuchu’s half-sister?”
Father Han nodded.
“Then we won’t go. But this child must look like her mother, she’s really pretty.” Mother Han thought of Yin Lingyan, and the expression on her face… it was truly indescribable, gentle and fond…
Father Han sighed, “You should worry less and let them take their course.”
“I’ll listen to you.” Mother Han agreed readily, but her prompt agreement surprised Father Han a little.
*
“Why didn’t I see your father today?” Yin Lingyan remembered that it seemed to be Mother Han who was being polite the whole time, and she hadn’t seen his father.
“Are you preparing for a daughter-in-law to meet her in-laws?” Han Wuyu was stunned by her words and couldn’t help but feel like teasing her.
Yin Lingyan’s face flushed, she glared at him, and walked forward.
