Chapter 3: Intersection
“Here, drink.”
“Drink.” Two wine glasses gleamed crystal clear under the light.
Soon…
“I’m leaving first, Qingran.” Qingran had drunk a lot today, so she decided to go back by herself. Yin Lingyan knew Mu Qingran had someone coming to pick her up, and besides, this was her territory, so she felt at ease.
“Mmm… is it okay?” Mu Qingran rubbed her temples at the table, muttering.
Yin Lingyan smiled, then stumbled out of the bar. It was already getting dark, and the cold wind made her gradually sober up.
She looked at the bustling street, cars flashing past her eyes, a dazzling spectacle. Having had a bit to drink, she felt drowsy.
She hailed a taxi without thinking. Once inside, she found it surprisingly warm and comfortable, and she leaned by the window and fell asleep without any defenses.
In a daze, she seemed to hear a cold voice say, “Get out.”
The voice was chilling, but her head was throbbing so much that she couldn’t care less. She simply slapped her hand onto his face. His entire face was ice-cold. Yin Lingyan only felt one word… cold.
“What is this, so cold,” she mumbled softly, then fell asleep. A minute later, she started snoring.
The man beside her had a cold expression. When she placed her hand on his face, he was taken aback. He then heard her soft muttering, and then she fell asleep snoring. He found it both amusing and exasperating.
“Hey, wake up and get out.” He nudged her, but she didn’t move. He moved a little closer to her.
It was then that he noticed how truly beautiful this girl was. Her willow-like eyebrows were just the right length and proportion, her eyes were closed, her eyelashes were very long, her nose was high-bridged, and she had beautiful, thin lips and a flawless, clean face.
He found himself involuntarily touching her face. There was no plastic surgery, no makeup. She even carried only a faint scent of shower gel and the lingering fragrance of shampoo in her hair.
He looked at her sleeping peacefully, her cheeks flushed, clearly having drunk a lot. He couldn’t help but think:
Isn’t this girl afraid of being kidnapped by bad people? Looking at her, she’ll probably have to be taken home. As he thought this, Han Wuyu frowned. When had he become so kind? He hated women the most. If she hadn’t been so drunk, how could he have been so considerate?
Afterward, his expression turned cold again, as if the soft tenderness from moments ago had been an illusion.
“Go back,” Han Wuyu said coldly to the driver. The driver was startled. He glanced at the sleeping Yin Lingyan, said nothing, and quietly drove the car.
A very large villa appeared before them. Han Wuyu got out of the car and looked at Yin Lingyan, who was still motionless. Helplessly, he had to carry her down.
It was Han Wuyu’s first time carrying a woman. The movement of his steps caused Yin Lingyan to wake up for a moment. “Mmm… my head hurts…”
Han Wuyu heard her and glanced at her. Her eyes were still closed, but her hand was touching the spot where her head hurt. A sentence blurted out, “If you can’t drink, don’t drink, idiot.”
Hearing this voice, Yin Lingyan giggled foolishly and then, for the first time ever, called out, “Father.”
After saying that, Yin Lingyan wasn’t done. She felt this embrace was very, very warm and snuggled closer to his chest, wrapping her arms around his waist.
Han Wuyu froze, his expression stiffening coldly. He pursed his lips, suppressing the urge to throw her down, and strode forward. He placed her on the bed in the guest room, but Yin Lingyan felt unstable, as if she were about to fall. She instinctively grabbed his neck, and his movements were like lightning. He braced himself on either side of her, preventing her from pulling him down.
