Chapter 5: Intersection
Han Wuyu carried her into the house. Perhaps it was due to her drunkenness, but at this moment, she felt a slight heartbeat looking at his profile. Then she looked at his exposed chest…
OH NO! Yin Lingyan was shocked by her own thoughts. She shook her head vigorously. Han Wuyu looked at her strangely, wondering why she was making such a movement.
“What are you doing?”
His cold voice reached her ears. Only then did Yin Lingyan realize that she had actually made the movement she had been thinking about. Her face instantly turned red, and she stammered, “Ah? N-nothing.”
Han Wuyu gave her a suspicious glance but didn’t ask further.
“Sleep here tonight, and leave tomorrow.” Han Wuyu put her down and pointed to the bed that she had messed up in her haste.
Yin Lingyan glanced at the bed she had ‘ruined’ and nodded awkwardly. After he left, she tidied up the quilt and bedsheet, turned on the bedside lamp, and slept peacefully.
After Han Wuyu returned to his bedroom, he didn’t sleep. He continued to type on his computer but felt uneasy. He rubbed his temples and realized what he had done today.
When had he ever been so kind? It was definitely the first time.
He shook his head, closed the computer, and slept soundly through the night.
The next day
Morning dew slid off the leaves, and the chirping of cicadas sang, further showcasing nature’s vitality. It was a peaceful and beautiful scene, but then some rustling sounds echoed from the living room.
Han Wuyu had always been a light sleeper. Hearing the sound that broke the silence, he rolled over and got up. Opening the door, he saw a slender figure acting suspiciously.
Yin Lingyan broke her personal record for waking up early today. She had no more sleepiness before anyone else woke up, so she quickly got herself ready to leave. The scene Han Wuyu saw was her just as she was closing the door.
Her long hair was blown by the gentle breeze. Seen through the window, it was so beautiful. Han Wuyu glanced at her and was momentarily lost in thought.
The women he encountered were all heavily made up, their eyes shining when they saw him, with non-mainstream hairstyles and high heels clicking noisily. Their faces wore expressions of affectation that he detested the most.
Only she, wearing a white shirt, tight jeans, and canvas shoes. Despite such seemingly unremarkable clothing, she carried herself with a unique charm?
“Wow~ Fresh Goddess, you’re here so early.” As soon as she arrived at school, Mu Qingran looked at her as if she had seen a ghost. Yin Lingyan rolled her eyes at her.
Fresh Goddess was the beautiful nickname the school had given her, and this best friend always used it to tease her.
“Mhm, I woke up early so I came,” Yin Lingyan replied perfunctorily. Glancing at her bare face, she knew this best friend was about to ask for a favor again.
It was strange, really. She didn’t like makeup, yet she possessed the skills of a professional makeup artist. She hadn’t learned it through formal training; seeing makeup artists work on others’ faces, applying and blending,
she felt a sense of pride, as if others’ faces were in her hands. So, she imitated their movements and steps, thus learning makeup. She often did her best friend’s makeup, and the results were comparable to those of a professional makeup artist.
Mu Qingran indeed chuckled, “It’s good you’re here early. Let’s go do our makeup.”
Their usual spot for makeup was west of the school’s sports field. This area was very cool in the summer because of several large, leafy trees that blocked out external views. Beneath the trees were many stone stools, making it a frequent dating spot for couples, and naturally, it became their makeup location.
